I use them year around along with glutamine. I find them helpful at all times.
I noticed on another thread dg806 and Twin Peak discussing BCAAs. I have been considering using them but was intriged to know why not to use them on a bulk????? I now they help prevent muscle breakdown after working out.
Any thoughts?

They can be used at all times. I mostly use them before cardio or if I am about to start lifting and haven't eaten for over a few hours. Along with Glutamine.
You dont need them on a bulk, because of increased protein.(assuming your on a high protein diet)

an effective dosage of BCAA's is around .2 grams per KG of BW any less than that IMO isn't worth it. they are definetly best used when there is a severe caloric deficit...
so the average 200 lb weight trainer would need to take in 18 grams...

Many whey powders are about 25% BCAA.
