Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM Supplements

I recently purchased a supplement containing all 3 of these items in one pill. I know the recommended dosages for those with joint pain, but I felt that taking some as a preventative measure would be a good idea. Can anyone recommend a dosage level of these items for preventative measures? Each pill contains 333mg of glucosamine and 166mg of chondroitin and MSM. I figured 2 pills per day would be sufficient, although the bottle suggests 3 or 4.

I think it takes a while to kick in, atleast it did for me. I took 3/day for a month and finally started feeling much better in my wrists and joints.

As I said, I don't have current issues with my joints. However, because resistance training does stress one's joints beyond that of everyday activities, I thought preventative maintenance would be a good idea.

What is your suggested dosage in this situation?

3x daily. I'm 37. Been taking that same complex for over a year now and have experienced NO joint problems. Like you, I did not have any pre-existing issues or injuries I was dealing with (other than a slight popping in my shoulders during certain pressing movements). I started taking Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and MSM Supplements as a preventative measure. My Father (78 years old) swears by the stuff and I am compelled to do also.

If you don't have current problems, it's doubtful you would need to follow the dosage on the bottle, and you would probably pass some of it as waste, so I think 2-3 is good

I took 2 last night, although I may consider 3 depending on what the general consensus is.

Thanks, and keep the opinions/suggestions coming.

I bought some that has 500mg Glucosamine and 400mg Chondroitin in each tab and I have been taking one/day. I could tell a big difference in 3 or 4 days after I started taking them. I have recently started hurting in my elbows again, so I am going to take 2/day, but if you are not having any probs yet, your 1-pill dose should be fine.

Follow the recommended dose.. I but the triple strength, so I only take 2 pills a day.
