Are there any effective fatburners that dont speed up the thyroid?

I went to the dr/dermatologist the other day because I felt that my hair was thinning a little bit even tho everybody else thinks I am crazy and have nothing to worry about yet....

anyway when I was at the doc's office he commented how good of shape I was in and asked what I did to stay this way... I explained to him my routine, etc.. etc... then he asked me about the supplements that I took for working out, and I told him redline, whey protien, creatine, fish and flax oil, b vitamins, c vitamins, etc,,,,,,,,,,, he asked me if I took any fatburners/thermogenics and I told yes, I take redline. He asked me if I knew what was in this product and I said synephrine, caffiene, thats all I remembered... So we jumped on his computer and looked up redline to find out exactly what was in it....... well he has a theory that has some pretty good backing that he explained to me! A lot of the fatburners that are out today have ephedra/ephedrine, synephrine, gugglesterones.... these ingrediants directly stimulate the thyroid gland to speed it up which gives you the fatburning effect that we all desire. the down side to this is that the sped up thyroid gland now becomes an artificially created hyperthyroid state which leads to the aforementioned diffuse thinning of hair, insomnia, weightloss, depression, etc.....

anyway to make this long story short is there any fat burners available that are worthwhile but non-thyroid dependant.....

I guess I may just have to back to just using caffiene...aka.... starbucks coffee!!
