Multi vitamins question

Ok, I assume that the FDA Daily Value for vitamins are for sedentary individuals. But for those of us who have a more active life, I think we need more than that. Is that right?

If so, when buying a MV, I should be looking for one that has more than the suggested DV, right? Since, it's a good idea to keep the nutrients flowing thru the body, I was thinking in just getting a regular MV, like Centrum that has 100% DV, and taking 2 capsules a day or maybe 3. Like morning, afternoon and bed time. Any thoughts?

Yup - especially things such as anti-oxidants which help to repair the damage you do at the gym.

Well - just buying a GOOD multivitamin is a good start. You might then want to supplement that with specific vitamins and minerals (eg: Calcium, magnesium, Vit A, E and C)...

This might be the wrong way to go about things. There are things in those tablets which you don't want massive doses of - these can be toxic if they accumulate in your body.

Taking a good multivitamin once a day then ensuring your daily diet has adequate sources of vitamins and minerals (lots of fresh vegetables, whole grains, fruits, eggs, nuts etc) would be sufficient. If you felt the need you could also supplement with specific minerals/vitamins but I don't recommend you just take multiple tablets.
