I also take twinlab creatine fuel stack caps. I take 6 caps (5mg) every morning on off days, and on workout days I take 6 before I lift and 6 after. Good luck.
I have just bought creatine monohydrate in the capsule form (Twin Lab). I want some advice on its dosage?

This belongs in the supplements area.

The bottle says that one should take a cap. before workout and another after it. What am I gonna do on my off days, should I continue taking them? If yes then how ? Should I do any kinda cycle or do I have to go through all that loading and maintaining phase kinda stuff like that?
I've been on creatine powder non-stop for 10 years now. No need to cycle. Just make sure you load with 5 grams x 5 per day (25 grams total) for 5~7 days, then take a 5 gram maintenance dose per day from there on. Take it with a sugary drink to spike insulin levels, particulary in the morning after you wake up. Drink lots of water.
can u tell me how good is creatine ?
I dont see a need to do a loading phase, but I throw creatine(powder) into my pre and post w/o shakes, 5 grams each time, so u can adjust accordingly to the dose in each of ur caps. Grape juice is great to take it with, avoid caffeine as it may hinder the effects and be kind to ur kidneys, chug loads of h20!

check the bottle to see how much is in every cap and take the equivalent of approx 5 grams...On off days, just take one dose, first thing in da AM.Originally Posted by Ahsan

On off-days, Place your capsules on a mirror. Cut with razor blades into powder form (much more absorbable through the nostrils). Put nose to mirror and breathe in deeply through nose.Originally Posted by Ahsan

how much capsules on my off days? rem. I am 17 yr old.Originally Posted by crazy_enough
Creatine isnt dangerous at 17 unless u are severely dehydrated or have kidney issues...Just one dose on days off, so, if u would usualy take two 5 g doses/day, that makes it...yes, ONE 5 g dose on days off...When I had creatine mono in capsules, they contained just 750 mg per cap, so once again, check content.Originally Posted by Ahsan
But since ur 17, have u tried just tweaking ur diet to gain weight instead of using supplements? food is ur number one supp.

I agree. Do you even know what creatine does? Are you getting tired during a work out? I think your diet will help you more.Originally Posted by crazy_enough
theres prolly 2-3 g per capsule. just take 2 before and 2 after, this may get expensive, in which case 2 after should be fine. no.. there is no need to load creatine.
Creatine is 100% safe. I don't buy any of that supermarket tabloid crap about someone damaging their kidneys or liver from high creatine intake. That's complete nonsense. I'd like to see a single verifiable case of anyone having organ damage from creatine supplementation since its discovery. In fact, I've undergone a 12 month period of liver and kidney monitoring through bloodwork and urine analysis for a medication I was taking at the time and never once did anything rise above normal levels and I was supplementing the whole time 10 grams a day. Just drink lots of water, as you should already, and you'll be fine.
Creatine is naturally produced by the body at approximately 5 grams a day. Most of your body's creatine stores are found in your skeletal muscle as creaine phosphate. It's basically just a source of energy stores for muscle cells under high duress. Supplementation exceeding your body natural production simply increases the benefits you receive because the muscle cells will draw in the extra creatine in the bloodstream when its available. While doing so, the muscles also bring in water which is why you get some water retention and added weight of 5 to 10 lbs for most men. The water retention is within the muscle cells however, so the "pump" you get doesn't make you look soft...just fuller muscles. Except for the 5% of people creatine supplementation doesn't work for, you'll immediately notice more reps, endurance, and peak strength in your workouts thanks to the extra energy stores.
It's true you don't have to have to use a loading phase because if you just take a 5 gram maintenance dose every day, this already exceeds your body's normal production and eventually you will maximize your body's maximum creatine stores over time. Depending on how much you weigh however this may take a while, meaning you may have to wait that much longer to realize the full benefits. So it's up to you. I don't like to wait myself.
