CARB-LOAD Supplements...

Please help me out with my carb-up meal supplements. I am looking for some different opinions on what suppplements will help me achieve optimal glycogen replenishment and really PACK the carbs into my muscles. My carb-up meal is a HUGE bowl of spaghetti and 2 scoops of ice-cream..

Carb-up Supplements..
1.5 servings of TRAC (6g creatine + 6g l-arginine)
5g glutamine peptides
600 mg. ALA

Stats!
23 years old, 5'11.5", 206 lbs., ~8% bodyfat

380/455/655 bench/squat/deadlift (current)
405/495/675 bench/squat/deadlift (goals)

Pasta is not a great post workout carb up meal...too low on the glycemic index.

The ice cream will slow absorption of the carbs, just when you need them to be absorbed quickly.

You'd be far better of with a whey shake mixed with a simple sugar(maltodextrin), or a whey shake and white rice/white potato/or rice cakes.

2 grams of L-arginine will also load more carbs into the muscles.

Its not a postworkout type of carb-load bro. Sorry to mislead you. Its a twice per week type of deal.

Ok, well the arginine recommendation still stands. My question is...why the ice cream?

You may also wish to try vanadyl sulfate by Sportpharma...I don't care what other's say...it works.

I believe in all proteins. Every protein...whey, egg, milk, meat, chicken, fish, etc,...has a slightly different amino acid profile, as well as different digestion rates, different properties, and varying micro fractions. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Variety is best...although, whey is the preferred source, post-workout, and a slow acting protein like casein is best before bed.
