    ALA while cutting?

How much ALA would you reccomend while carb cycling? I read that if you take it right after a low carb day you will go hyperglycemic, so should I only take it after high-carb days? And how much should I take/what times per day?

    Thanks!!

I, I only speak of myself, take one 300mg pill after my workout because I add about 15-30g of dextrose to my post-workout whey. And during the weekend, carb-up day(s), I do take anywhere between 1500-2100mg. I also make sure I that I take 300mg w/ atleast 30grams of carbs otherwise the heartburn is unreal. With that in mind, I don't really use ALA during my low carb days only once in a while.

forget ALA and all the hype. use Glucorell-R for a glucose disposal agent. ALA is a good anti-oxidant for the liver, that's about it.

LAM, you don't think it helps with glucose uptake? Ive been taking 400mg's before big meals while on cycle to help me get hungry again quicker.

the problem with ALA or r-ALA is that it effects both myocytes and adipocytes. I know that I don't want extra nutrients heading to my fat cells. if the person doesn't have decreased insulin sensitivity IMO it's not going to have much effect. for a perso with high body fat who obviously has decreased insulin sensitivity than yes it may be of some good. for somebody who has an average to lean physique and is looking to lean up I would use CLA before ALA.

The ingredient in glucorell is R(+)ALA. does the plus sign make that big of a difference in its effects?

I ordered some Glucophase XR by designer supplements, it's gotten good feedback and blood testing by supersoldier to show the drop in blood sugar

The only reason I have ALA is because I accidently bought it from Wal-Mart. I guess i'll just take it until its gone then stop worrying about it. It can't hinder progress can it?

I'm not a fat bastard with insulin sensitivity, yet it's pretty apparent that ALA affects glucose uptake for me. Take that for what it's worth. I've been using NOW brand.
