    Cholesterol in Protein Powders?

I have been out of the supplement scene for a few years and am looking to get back into heavy lifting, therefore I am in need of a Whey protein supplement.

In looking at various labels, I noticed that cholesterol was a major factor in the ingredients chart.

What type of cholesterol are we talking about? I have seen anywhere from 70mg (GNC) to as low as 20mg in others (per serving). Should this cholesterol be considered a good cholesterol, or a bad cholesterol? I am borderline in "bad" cholesterol due to genetics, and don't need to start adding any more "bad" cholesterol to my diet.

Also, Can I mix the Whey products on todays market with water in a shaker, or will it taste like crap?

    Thoughts?

Ingested cholesterol won't increase your "bad" cholesterol, it's saturated fats etc that do that. Don't worry about it.

Whey mixed with water or skim milk tastes fine, although this obviously varies by brand.
