Little help with the protein mixtures?

I just recently bought some protein and was going to drink some after working out tonight. Reading the directions it said 1 scoop for evert 4-5 ounces of water/milk. Is that right? That's not even really half a cup of liquid to basically a half a cup of powder... It tasted like hell and i couldn't finish it since i felt like i was going to hurl since the powder was still in it. Is that right? did i just not mix it enough?

That's about right. I use two scoops for eight ounces of water, I've heard (read) that mixing protein powder with milk is a bad idea because the lactose bonds with the protein and it passes right through your body. As for tase, look around and find a protein you like. Throwing a couple of ice cubes in the shaker and shaking until they are dissolved does wonders....

Sheesh, i've done shots bigger then that =P Alright. Since it sounds like i'll need to use a blender. Is it possible i can make a large amount of the drink and just store it in the fridge for the week using it periodically? Or would that not be a good idea.

I would suggest NOT making a large portion of your product and storing it. Something to do with the break down of the amino chains. I use a weight gainer that says 12 scoops to 12 oz. of milk (fat chance, I cant even get it to pour, it looks like wet cement) I personally find no reason why you cant add more water (or milk) to your powder. If you need extra Calories, you may want to mix it with fruit (vanilla powder and a hint of OJ can be really good) or maybe add some of your own chocolate syrup. Play with it. Read your labels. If you are taking a protein directly after your work out make sure it is a fast acting protein such as Whey Protein Isolate.

what brand are you using? some brands are more mixable then others. i am using all the whey and all i need is a spoon to mix it with water. But i had other brands that i had to mix with a blender. I suggest just add enough liquid so you get the consistency that you want/like

jeez what a complicated question-just go by taste! whatever floats yer boat! dont let the stupid directions tell you how it should taste. I go by thickness. Regardless you still get the same protein amount. And dont use milk-after a workout, it'll make you fart to no end.
