Simple question about losing some water weight.

I did a search and was overwhelmed with what came up and didnt really find a good answer: What would be good for me to take to lose some water weight (as much as safely possible) for an upcoming contest. No, not a bodybuilding contest (I wish), my gym is having a corporate challenge/summer slim-down 10 week contest and I want to shed as much water weight during the final week of the contest so my final weigh in will be as low as possible. I have read some info about taroxatone (sp.?) but I seem to recall something else that was mentioned on here awhile back that caught my eye but I cant seem to recall/find what it was. Anyone? Thanks.

try taraxatone if you want to be safe, you could also check out lasix, thats meant to be the shit for dropping water fast but its also pretty high risk

Messing around with loop diuretics like Lasix shouldn't be taken lightly. Lasix will not only remove water but also electrolytes, particularly potassium. Stick with natural diuretics like dandelion root.

I ordered the taraxatone form BulkNutrition already...from what I read its the way to go for what I want. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Maybe a stupid question but, should I just take it as prescribed on the bottle or should I modify how I use it?

It will probably work just fine for what you want, but you can make it more potent by adding in some more dandelion root with each dose. An extra 250-500 mg of dandelion 3 x per day is excellent.

Diet wise, you should also cut carbs that week if the main goal is drying out.

My ONLY goal with this contest is to lose as many pounds as possible and the taraxatone is only going to be used the last week of the contest so my final weigh in will be as low as possible and then I will go back to my normal cut/diet program. I will try the dandelion root too, thanks.

estrogen blockers do nothing in terms of effecting lipolysis...you need to clean up your diet to lose some body fat

i heard stuff like letro, adex and nolva could help drop bodyfat, as high levels of estrogen = more fat storage or some crap like that, i can't remember but i read a pretty good article on it, swearing by AI and AE's for cutting purposes

    Anti-Estrogens

Most people have heard of Anti-E's due to their role in a person's steroid cycle. Anti-Estrogens are used to prevent gynocomastia (the formation of breast tissue) from steroids that aromatize and also reduce water retention. However, Anti-Estrogens can be also used for a host of other reasons, and in our case, fat loss. Estrogen is a "fattening" hormone, and if it is kept in check while dieting you can receive a hard look without even using anabolic steroids. If you don't believe me, notice the body fat gain when a girl starts using birth control, this is caused by the increase in estrogen levels.

The best drugs for this effect would be Nolvadex (if you are not using anabolic drugs), or the much more powerful (but also very expensive) Arimidex and Femara. Dosages of Nolvadex are usually between 20mg and 40mg a day, Arimidex is usually 1/2mg to 1mg a day, and for Femara, one 2.5mg tab could be used ED or EOD. These could all be used by them self but you could stack Nolvadex with Arimidex or Femara due to the fact that Nolvadex and Arimidex both effect estrogen in the body differently.

These are very good for the natural dieter due to the fact that they will give you a hard (steroid) look, and they will also allow you to retain more muscle mass while dieting. For someone using Anabolic drugs during a fat loss cycle, they should be used regardless because of steroids aromatizing into estrogen, and also they will keep water down and give you a "dry" look.

You WILL get leaner by having less estrogen in your body, however.

that dude is talking out of his ass. there is not one medical study in PubMed or the NEJM that states that the use of SERMS or AI's have a direct effect on lipolysis

Mudge your tips were right on target. I copied and pasted this response that I put in a different thread. Thanks alot.

As promised I am giving an update: Today was my 6th day on the taraxatone and wow did it work! I have dropped almost 12lbs of water weight. No cramping whatsoever. Only side-effect of any significance is the "drained" feeling I have had the last two days while cutting back my water intake. This was expected though because I have cut out carbs and really jumped up the cardio to shed as much water as possible. Obviously this is a temporary "fix" and isnt really healthy but in a crunch (or at the end of a club contest like Im in) it can help. I havent did my final weigh-in yet...that will be in the morning. Thanks for the tips guys

Maybe not the best way but some shots of vodka should drain you out come the next morning, (Hangovers are from dehydration and the toxins absorbed by the body), I find that after a night of drinking the next day im a good 3-4 lbs lighter

Hi Guys. I have tried getting help from the diet thread but no answers yet and I am running out of time. I have a competition in 2 weeks. I need advice on Carb depleting and loading with TAROXATONE.

Can anyone advise me on how to do the last week to get as dry as possible? I am completely natural and not as lean as I would like to be. I would like to have a full round appearance for my show which is a womens class.

I have heard TAROXATONE is good. But I don't know about how best to use it as the instruction say to drink plenty of water. Do I still cut the water 18 hours out. And still Carb load? HELP?

Any advise on the best way to approach the final week with regards to how best to deplete with training diet / Sodium / Water intake / Cardio and loading would be appreciated.

I have been out of the game nearly 6 years after a serious injury so I have forgotten a lot and don't want to screw it up.

    Thanks in advance.

I can only give truly detailed advice to a competitor that is under my care, but let me give you a few general tips that may help.

Carb Deplete/Load: How long you deplete and load really depends on what type of shape you are in going into the last week. Generally it is best to deplete M, T, W, and load Th, F, and Sat morning.

Sodium: Keep intake normal until Friday morning, and then cut it as close to zero as possible.

Water: Keep water very high while carb depleteing. Drop water intake to about half on Thurs and most of Fri. Then, about 12 hours before you expect to step onstage, cut water completely (save for a few sips before you get onstage).

Taraxatone: Start on Monday and use through Sat morning as indicated on bottle.

I hope that bit of info is helpful to you.

    gp
