BACKGROND ON ME:
i'm 22, 190 lbs, and 6'2" (check pics). little background on me: started lifting when i was about 12 with my dad; just arms and chest, lite workouts. stopped while i was in junior high then started back up in high school, starting to lift heavy. after graduating highschool i stopped working out all the time and it became just a few times a month. i just started back up about 3 weeks ago.
QUESTIONS:
all i've been taking is protein shakes and a muti-vitamin each day and i just went to GNC to get some help on supplements (which I see probably wasn't a good idea - looks like most people in this forum don't like gnc). they sold me on a new product called Fitzogen Blast Cycle (yes i did do a search for this in the forums but did not get any results). I took it for the first time today and about 30 minutes into my workout i started to feel kind of nauseous. enough to make me stop working out. i got light headed and my energy took a huge decline. i took 2 scoops on an empty stomach, just like it says on the container. Anyone know of this product??? Anyone know why i would feel that way while taking it?
I'm not lifting to join any body building competitions, i just want to lift to gain some mass and be cut. my goal is to hit 220/240lbs.
Any suggestions on what I should be taking besides a multi vitamin and protein?
I'm on somewhat of a small budget aswell.
If I went to GNC and tried exchanging the product, would they let me? if i told them it was giving me bad side effects? f*ck i hope thats not a dumb ass question.
Well I have never heard of the product you are taking so I cant comment on that. But i will say to be careful when taking advice from gnc guys, they will sell you what they need to sell. And as for supplements, you should start taking creatine, preferably a CEE creatine.

thanks for helping out.
Supplements are just that, SUPPLEMENTS. They are an adjunct, not a substitute, for proper intake of real foods, proper training and sufficient rest so the body can recover and grow.
With your background of starting and stopping, and now with just three weeks of being "back on the wagon", your focus now should be on learning to train properly and CONSISTENTLY and developing proper eating habits such as eating 4-6 small meals a day and getting at least one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight each day. While this is going on, whey protein drinks and multi vitamins are all you need for right now. If all of this is not right, supplements will not make up for it and all you are doing is throwing away your hard earned money.
And on your goal. It is admirable, but realize that gaining 30-50 pounds of muscle is going to take YEARS. And even so, there is the chance that unless you are genetically gifted, putting on that amount of size when you are already 22 years old and at 190 pounds may be beyond the limits of what your body may be able to accomplish unless you resort to steroid assistance.
I think GNC has a pretty good return policy. Get your money back and worry about eating good whole foods and some protein powder for a while. Good luck on the 50lbs, I think the answer to that problem is in the anabolics section.

Its advertised in the bodybuilding magazines. Its supposed to be a Nitric Oxide booster among other things. They claim it gives you great pumps and also energy for the workout. There are other Nitric Oxide Boosters that come in tablets, including the brand I take. This lessens the chance of stomach upset, which may have been what you experienced.
You should return it and get a full refund. This type of product is not intended to be a "short cut". I hope this is not how you intend to continue in your lifting endeavors.
First off, thank you all for your responses. Lankster - yes, that is the product i'm taking. I think I had that reaction because I took 2 scoops of it. I'm going to try taking only 1 scoop before my workout and see if I feel different. If it happens again, I'm going to try and get my money back and stick with the whey protein and multi-vit for now. Egoatdoor - thank you for the info, and you're right 30-50 lbs will take years so maybe i'll start at a goal of 15-25lbs! i recently quit smoking (3 weeks)and in doing so i've already put on 5 pounds (15 lbs in the last year) BUT it's not all muscle, i haven't been eating right so i would think the majority of the weight is fat weight. I am going to read the nutrition section to get info on good eating habits. definetely something i need to start doing.
Thanks again Milkway777, Egoatdoor, canuck mscle, and Lankster
Just got done with a workout with only taking one scoop of the Blast Cycle and I didn't have the nausea side effect like i did yesterday when i took 2 scoops. Looks like my body can only handle one scoop, so i'll stick with that for now. Hopefully I'll be able to notice good side effects within a couple weeks! If anyone else has used Fitzogen Blast Cycle before please give me your feed back on the product.
