A lot of these fat burners use herbs as the baseline (major) ingredients and they do help with glucose breakdown as well as create a very minor stimulant factor, but nothing like the old ECA/NYC used to do.

Whats the deal with "fat burners"? I have seen many people suggest clen, E HCL, Hot Rox, and a bunch of other "fat burners"...
Im not very convinced that any of these "fat burners" will do much fat burning... I have tried Ephedrine in the past and didnt find it burning much fat but making me more hyper, grinding my teeth... it was like a.. not so strong Ecstacy hit...
While On Eph, i didnt even try doing cardio, i had to wait till it wore off as I was worried my heart would go through the roof and I would faint or pass out. It did help a tad for weight lifting tho...
I have read and heard that it "raises body heat levels and makes your heart rate speed up"...
True or false, NOT taking this and doing cardio would do more fat burning? I firmly beleive to burn fat you must jump on a cardio machine for 60 min a day at least to burn the 2 lbs of fat a week off......
Someone please explain?

Just stay hypocaloric. Get adequate protein.
I was just wondering how it worked..does anyone know? does it really work?
Simple, yet sound advice.Originally Posted by Cardinal
Any stimulant causes thermogenesis of the body, that is, it raises the temperature in the body by making the heart pump faster. The increased heart rate has the carry on effect of being equivalent to doing exercise when in an at-rest state which in turn increases your metabolism by increasing your calorie consumption causing fatty acids to be released from the stored fat cells in your body at a greater rate thereby transitioning the fat into energy.
So, you're on the mark - they increase fat loss by raising your body heat and making your heart pump faster which increases your metabolism making you lose weight more efficiently when at rest. However, the cons are anxiety, teeth grinding, irregular heart beat, risk of stroke, risk of heart attack, risk of dehydration, and all the usual cons of someone on speed or ecstasy.

thanks adam, but would you say these work WITHOUT doing any cardio, or they SUPPLEMENT a fat loss schedule already? I DONT take them, I have Therma leam, 8mg eph, 250mg, caffeine... i dont take them but if im doing 1 hour of cardio a day, would they INCREASE the amount of fat i burn? would this help me? or is it really not worth takin cuz i dont like the sides, works really well for work outs tho...
im burning 1.5-2lbs a week already from cardio, thats more or less the max you can do weekly.. would this bring it up? how can this help me? allow me to eat more carbs? (carb sensitive)
Thanks in advance
First of all, take this following reply as just me thinking out loud rather than basing it on any actual study, let's just call it my two cents worth:
what i would be doing if I was you, and what I do do, is HIT type training (30secs sprint, 30 second jog, 30 second sprint....starting with a 5 minute workout up to a maximum of a 15 minute workout for advanced people - see other links in the training section) which has the effect of increasing your at rest heart rate throughout the day without the use of any type of stimulant. This I would consider to be the natural alternative to taking a stimulant. Alternatively, you could take the stimulants.
To answer some of your questions:
1. Would they work without doing any cardio? Yes.
2. Would they work to the extent that you want them to without doing any cardio? No.
3. Should they merely be used to supplement weight loss rather than be the only form of weight loss? Yes.

First things would have to be first: Good sound diet. Good excercise/cardio routine. THEN, for a short period of time (5-6weeks) you could supplement all your good eating and good cardio/excercise by adding in a good fatburner. IF your diet is bad the fatburners wont do much at all, if you dont do much excercise the fatburners wont do much at all ( I speak from MUCH experience). Fatburner are sold with LAZY people in mind...the people who dont really want to diet or excercise and think that "thin" comes in a good pill. NOPE, sorry, wont happen. Yes fatburners work and can help but they will only help you finish what YOU started.

Hi, new guy here
I have been wathcing my diet and doing cardio on a regular basis. I would like to try a fat burner for an extra boost.
I was thinking of trying Lipo-6 from here, http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/fatloss.htm If you have another recommendation let me know.
I will try to get plenty of water to help with dehydration. I run for about 30-40min on empty stomach in the mornings. My only concern is from overheating from the heat and sun. Just looking for some feedback from anyone who runs on a regular basis (3-4 time a week.) on any symptoms and overall experience. TIA.![]()

dont waste your money. eat right and exercise is the only magic bullet. if you are serious-i am currently using hot rox and have had great success using it with my last year's show. it's good stuff.
however, i still hardily recommend using whole food sources and cardio with training. if you want any tips-i have gone one week using low intensity cardio (walking or biking) and the next week with HIT training. This is probably what has really made me lose weight more than anything.

Running for 30mins first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is one of if not the best thing you can do to lose weight. Common rule 3000 calories = 1lbs If you consume only 2000 calories for a week, you will lose weight (this is based on the assumption you have a normal to high metabolism) but they will be slow so just stick too it. Whenever you starve yourself your body slows your metabolism because it thinks it is starving and it stores more. Best thing to do is eat 5 small meals a day (yes I said 5). Doing this will do 2 things 1) raise your metabolism 2) provide a constant flow of nutrients to your body all day (great for building muscle)
[B]How much cardio?
In order to burn fat you must do a CONSTANT cardio workout for at least 30mins (that means playing basketball for 5 hours does not count because you are constantly stopping). Running 3 days a week for 30mins non-stop at a time should be plenty unless you are training for a sport in which every 2 days you do not train you lose a weeks worth of training (so pick one day you would like to have off and run everyday other then that day). I would suggest swimming over running because you get more out of it and due to the fact running requires shoes (very expensive shoes) and because running is a VERY, VERY high impact exercise (even worse if you dont know how to run, it is harder than it sounds to run properly).

one of the best forms of "cardio" is HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and 20 minutes daily is plenty.Originally Posted by Cowbell
