I get extreme cramping from it, but I don't think that is a common side effect.

because most doctors are ignorant about diet, nutrition and definitely supplements, the only exception is a doc that pursues this knowledge on his own.

Creatine is found in many foods you eat, so if you can get ear bleeding from creatine, then you'll get bleeding from the ear from eating hamburgers.

a non regulated supplement opposed to what, a regulated supplement?

here is a clue: there is no real regulation of supplements, the FDA can pull a supplement of the market if they find it to be dangerous, that is about the extent of supplement regulation.

first of all why would you bring steroids into this thread, we are talking about creatine? but since you brought them up, no I would not ask a doc about steroid use either, I would ask someone like Mudge who has proved his knowledge on the subject ten times over on this board.

secondly some of us do not hide behind a screen name and stupid pics like you, I am no "stranger on the net"...

I guess the best thing to do is research creatine yourself (or he should), there are several articles on my main site www.ironmagazine.com and there are numerous threads here with good info on creatine, and of course there is Google.

I have noticed that you really talk out your ass a lot on this board, maybe you should do more reading rather than posting until you learn something.

Point 1...thats what I said ...there is no regulation of most supplements!!!
Point 2...I talked to my Doctor about all my steroid usage and he was non judgmental and offered great advise as well as regular blood work.....invaluable to get advise from an intelligent Doctor who has spent years studying Human Anatomy and Physiology, as well as pharmacology and applied experience in a professional setting.
Point 3...Who is hiding? what is it that you need to see????
Point 4....You need much more than one or two sources if you want real information....do research on your own, talk to a sports Doctor and get advise from people who have been there and done that.
Edit: point 5 if I talk out of my ass give some examples and prove me wrong....thats what I would do if I was going to say someone was full of it

My doctor told me in 2003 that creatine was good for running but useless for weight-training......... He's a good doctor otherwise, I told him I was drinking too much and he put me onto fluoxetine/prozac saying I had a problem with depression. 8 months on I had to wean myself off that damned drug-and managed. Didnt stop me drinking though.......

Oh, back to the subject; Creatine does have one big side effect- it dehydrates you.......

There are some good doctors out there that are open minded and educated in other areas, however MOST MD's are not. Therefore I would never tell someone to go ask their doctor for diet, nutrition or supplement advice.

If you need drugs, go see your doctor that is what they do. I find it hard to believe that any MD (with the exception of a few that use them or work with pro athletes) would be capable of giving you advice on how to use steroids.

Prove you wrong on what? That most MD's are not educated in diet, nutrition, supplements and steroid use? That is a fact, no need to prove you wrong.

Look Prince I never said all Doctors were the "Most educated supplement experts on the planet", however it is never a bad idea to talk to your Doctor about things that effect your body. To tell someone to ask there Doctor a question is far from bad advise and I think you know that.

Just kidding. It won't kill you. It's good stuff. Safe, too. Just drink lots of water, and you're golden.

I have been taking creatine for 3 years and i have had no side affects other than a dry/sore throat sensation and the need to consume more water. My doctor said creatine is ok in reasonable dosages, but you must drink lots of water so that the liver isnt put through any un needed strain. I also recommed taking creatine with whey protein and a daily multi-vitamin, only a suggestion .
