Biological benefits of Arginine supplements other than "pump"?

I need to find out swiftly, as I have to order tonight... Are there any sort of actual benefits of arginine supps, AND would I be better off buying name brand items, such as nitrix, or should I continue buying bulk?

Nitrous Malate from www.customnutritionwarehouse.com.

I don't know for sure if there is a benefit other than better pumps and vascularity, but the science behind it sounds logical...increasing the body's nitrogen retention and increasing the O2 flow to the muscles.
