    does anyone know when the best time to drink the protein shake is?

    is it better to drink it before, during , or after a workout?

    DURING is a nono.

    You want to drink plain old water for during - your blood will be rushing around your muckes during training, you don't want blood to go to the stomach to help with absorption

    Personally i drink three protein shakes on non-training days and four protein shakes on training days.

    A typical training day i will have;

    1) protein shake when i wake up ASAP WITH WATERthen breakie half an hour later.

    2) half an hour before workout WITH MILK.

    3) straight after workout WITH WATER.

    4) Before bed WITH MILK.

    Hope that helped mate

    no it doesn't cost that much becuase i buy in bulk!

    i use optimum nutrition 100% whey strawberry flavor

    not sure how many grams but i take two scoops each time instead of one

    with milk it is about 50g protein per shake , without milk it comes to roughly 40g of protein.

    But not all of that protein will be absorbed , thier is no substitute for real food anyway but shakes are good for fast absorbtion and a busy lifestyle.

    I live in England ! Supplements are MUCH more expensive over here - count yourself lucky my friend!
