    Stimulants and cardio training

    Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have any experience of using stimulants such as caffeine pills, phentermine, adderall (not a stimulant as such) etc while you do cardio work.

Is it safe? Does it make any difference?

I'm not sure what I can get hold of in the UK but before I start to do any research I would like to hear any opinions you guys have.

p.s. To all the jokers out there I dont think my heart would take snorting a line of coke before I started going nuts on an elyptical trainer

I dont know the policies where your from but yohimbe and synephrine should give you the effect you are seeking. The key is reducing intake of food while increasing physical output...sounds fun right? appetite suppresant, water, CLA, high protein, all things that will help you get thermogenic.
Dont touch phentermine, or at least research it well, I think it was pulled from the market cos it screwed up peoples heart valves.

I like the staple e/c/a stack prior to cardio. My workout is much more intense.

What effect are you going for - fat burning or increased intensity...?

My main priority at the moment is fat burning, I dont know my body fat percentage but at 5'10 and 215 lbs theres plenty to get rid of. I'm going to stick to around 2000 calories daily and do cardio 5 times a week at around 30 minutes a time. I usually work at around 150bpm. Days when I weight train i'll up the calories and eat more protein but thats just to get the muscles working again as I haven't trained properly for years.

Well after i've done some reading up it seems most people are using ephadrine (ECA stack) but I was wondering how effective it was without the caffeine and asprin? Wont that kill your stomach? And also how does it compare with adderall, which a lot of people rave about?

I've used them and still use them on occasion to get wired before going to cardio.

    First of all
Do you have any heart-related illnesses/symptoms such as arythmia, palpitations, etc.
Are you more than 30lbs overweight?

If not and you seem to be in pretty good health, they are good once in a while, but listen to your body, if it gets to be too much, you must stop and stop then!

I've ordered some ephedrine today, I dont have any heart conditions or blood pressure issues. They're 25mg capsules so I was thinking of using 100mg caffeine ( 2 x pro plus) and 1 x 30mg asprin once a day to start with and see how it goes.

    Any comments or advice?

Start with about half-that dose in caffiene, about 1 x 25 mg tab of E 1-2 x daily and the aspirin is good. Try Yohimbe in my opinion it is better than Aspirin. Just my 2 cents/

BTW, why do you say bad idea Psycho Dad? If done in an intelligent way, it can be both safe and effective. Please explain.

I am going to try using an EC stack (without the aspirin) soon for about 4 weeks, then the remaining 2 weeks of the 6 week cycle, add in the aspirin. I've read that the aspirin may help further fat loss, but you lose more muscle.

Why would you think about using Adderall while doing cardio? That stuff is better saved for the books.

adderall's an ADD drug, a lot of people use it on campus for exams. One of its side effects is that it's supposed to decrease appetite. Personally, whenever I use it, the stuff gives me crazy cotton mouth. Did you think adderall because maybe it'd keep you focused on long periods of cardio (the stuff seems to make time fly). Anyhow, I suggest not using Adderall in conjunction with cardio.

What dose of Yohimbe do you recommend? I can order it easily enough but I can only find 500mg capsules.

IF that is what you can find,

I'd start out with 500mg 2 x per day, then increase to no more than 1000mg 2 x per day.

So it would look something like this:
    Ephedrine- 50 mg per day
    Yohimbe--1000mg per day
    Caffiene-500 mg per day

    Capiche?

It depends on the individual, personally I tried efedra and running and almost passed out...my heart rate jumped to 195 in the first 5 min of the workout....so I will never try that again.
I highly recommend all IronMagLabs supplements!

WHOA! 195 BPM? Crazy reaction man, good thing you stopped taking it.
I agree, tho, everyone is different and has different reactions to things, so experiment if you must but do so under the guize of a qualified medical professional as always man.

    Take care
