    Muscle Milk, too much fat?

I'm about done with my current whey product and I was looking into Muscle Milk, but every time it's mentioned I hear the usual banter about 17g/fat per serving and the retort that 80% of the saturated fats are MCTs.

So does it have too much fat or not?

Very easy answer......use as any scoops as you see fit...
I use 1 scoop Muscle milk and 1 scoop On Whey.....mixed in 12 oz skim milk or water.....thats 1/2 the fat

I'll try it out, and if I get fat as heck I'll let you guys know. Two tubs is only 30 servings which if you take pre and post would be only do for about a month or so. I need a little meat (not lard) on me so we'll see.

Toss the Muscle Milk, pick up some Xtreme Formulations Ultrapeptide and have the luxury of adding fat if you want it, or simply having the best tasting casein product on the market when you dont.

    Pre and post? Workout?

Casein is meant for before bedtime. Its super slow absorbing along with the fat, which is meant to hold you through the night.

I don't get why people are always trying to change it up.

    Stick with whey post-workout. Always.

They recommend it before workout too (at least 30 mins), probably just so we use more. But point taken I'll just use it post.

    Cytosport I presume:

Muscle Milk is an "evolutionary" muscle formula promoting efficient fat burning, lean muscle growth and fast recovery from exercise. Metabolically favorable ingredients stimulate growth and recovery in a similar manner to mother's milk nourishing a baby.

    Benefits of using Muscle Milk:
    * Creatine Production: Patent-pending, medically proven EndoCreatineTM gives you maximum benefits of creatine loading and storage by increasing your body's natural production of creatine.
    * Efficient Energy Production: Lean LipidsTM are special fats that are easily mobilized for workout energy, enhance your body's fat metabolism and promote protein synthesis, anti-imflammatory effects and mineral retention.
    * Muscle Growth and Repair: EvoProTM is a complex ratio of proteins, peptides and amino acids designed to replicate the amazing benefits of mothers milk for rapid tissue growth and repair.

Best ways to use Muscle Milk:
    * Before: Drink 30 minutes - two hours before your workout as you would a performance shake or smoothie
    * During: Drink together with Cytomax to flood the body with growth nutrients and acid-buffering agents
    * After: Drink within one-hour after workouts to encourage muscle synthesis during periods normally marked by breakdown
    * Evening: One serving before bed helps make your sleep time more anabolic

muscle milk in my opinion is great for:

the creatine aspect - never even heard of a protein blend increasing creatine production in the body.... there might be copies of this out there but this may still be the best one

the taste - never tasted a better tasting protein shake! wow.... properly made, its like something youd find in a milkshake stand

but i dont really see the "performance" factor in it. drinking it before lifting probably has the same effect as 100 whey on you.... just the fat here can provide some extra oxidative sources during lifts

I've been using MM since the summer, no problems here with extra fat gain.

Fat doesn't make you fat so I don't know why people keep bringing that stupid shit up.

    true, people need the fat

great as a postworkout shake, but does anybody see the "performance" gain they get by taking it before lifting?

ive seen that recommended many times, but ive never really come to see why

the only major difference is the fat content in it.... are they trying to advertise that quality as an oxidative source? cause thats a terrible excuse to throw down one of those expensive shakes before lifting for that only reason...

if it has 17g of fat in it then NO it is not great for a post workout shake. Post WO is really the only time you shouldnt be eating fat.

Yeah I was looking at ON Whey but then I read the warning.

Warnings: This product contains whey derived from dairy and lecithin (to improve mixability) derived from soybeans. For use as a dietary supplement only. Do not use for weight reduction.

I heard that soy was bad for men, I'm not sure if it is in this form but since I don't know I won't try it.

So the lecithin soy derivative doesn't have the estrogenic components regular soy does?

Ok, my meal before bed was a spinach salad (spinach, lite italian dressing) and two scoops muscle milk. It filled me up. Damn it tastes good.
