    Wrestling and Creatine

It's wrestling season now, so the bulking is out, and cutting is in. I know how creatine retains water and makes you put on a few extra pounds. I've read somewhere in here before about how it is okay to cut and take creatine. So I just wanted some reassurance that is it fine to take creatine while cutting.

Consider CEE, there little to no water retention, but irregardless if you have to make weight for a meet/tourney your not going to gain too much weight (from other creatines) that you can't shed prior to weigh in time.

Don't be on creatine when you are trying to make weight for wrestling! You should drink more water when on creatine.

the "weight" he would gain from creatine could be easily dropped for a weigh in, no need to totally eliminate it totally from his diet. UNLESS your matches are almost imediatley after weigh ins. I know when I wrestled I had usually 6-12 hrs after a weigh in before I had to hit the mat. The reason I say this is dropping weight for a comp. like wrestling can be pretty stressfull on your body and you'll want the extra time after weigh in to replenish yourself prior to mat time.

Creatine mono WILL KILL YOU if your school's program is as intense as mine was.

Yea, water weight will be lost in no time, I used to loose about 8 pounds a practice when I put on a couple layer of sweats...then I passed out, woke up in a pool of sweat, and made weight....good times

It definately depends on how much weight you have to drop to make weight. But generally, I would say the added discomfort and risk isn't worth it man. Sweat suits, spittin' in cups.. not worth it.
