    Too much protein is bad?

    Dangers of High Protein Diets

Dieters have been buying high-protein diets all across America, Britain and the rest of Europe, over the past several years. These high protein diet plans promise easy, fast weight loss, but do they deliver? Answer: No.

Instead of helping weight control, high-protein diets can be unhealthy, and tests show they are unlikely to lead to long term weight loss. Indeed, they may actually cause ill-health.
    Excess Protein in Diet

It is a fact that most people in this country are slowly and some cases quickly dying from malnutrition - that's poor nutrition. They over-feed on high-protein foods at the expense of carbohydrate foods and this, in turn, leads to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. Most people in the Western world have an excess of protein (and fatty) foods - usually in the form of animal protein.

    High Protein Diets - Unhealthy

    * High-protein foods are likely to be high in cholesterol and saturated fats - substances that can promote heart disease and various cancers.
    * Weight loss from high-protein diets comes at first from losing water. However, long-term weight control means losing fat, a goal that calls for changing eating habits over time and from taking more exercise.
    * On high protein diets people can temporarily lose large amounts of weight, and can even lower their blood cholesterol, sugar, and triglycerides, says John McDougall, M.D., but the method is unhealthy. On a very low-carbohydrate diet, like the Atkins diet, the body burns fat, and byproducts of this are ketones, which suppress the appetite and can cause nausea.
    * These high-protein diets contain significant amounts of the very foods, i.e. meats, that the American and British cancer societies and heart associations tell us contribute to our most common causes of death and disability. The reason blood cholesterol, sugar, and triglycerides may be reduced on high protein diets is that people are eating much less because of their loss of appetite, and sometimes nausea. In general, weight loss and health benefits are temporary because the high protein plan is too unpleasant to continue - so people go back to their old way of eating!
    Is this true?

bullshit, all you gotta do is watch it. i mean i used to eat 600 grams protein, 800 grams carbs. which was way too much. now i am a bit lower. 325-375 grams protein and around 500-550 grams carbs just upped the carbs again. but no listening to thatshit is nonsense. it is those poeple that eat 12 grams of fat, 25 grams of carbs and 400 grams of protein a day and think that they will lose weight.
These are my dreams, which I must make reality!

Well they aren't really making a case against protein, they are associating protein with saturated fat and saying protein is bad due to that association. They are also saying it's too yucky so they'll eat other things which is avoiding the protein issue again, they are saying it's bad because they'll go back to eating crap, which isn't protein's fault. In short it's pretty fucking idiotic written with pseudo logic by somebody who quite clearly has a problem thinking.

Whey proteins actually improve health benefits and combat what they've claimed high protein diets can do...
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless those who bless me as I gladly accept their blessings, and curse those who curse me all the while protecting me for any evils. In Christ name, amen...

Dont you hate people have a mindset that any supplements are wrong.
I got shouted at from my grandma today on how my MuscleMilk is for Only age 18+ and i dont need it. She says its very bad for my health and she "read an article in the newspaper about it" (she says that about everything, including how you cant have more than 5 eggs a week as its bad for you)

    Shes like
her:"my daughter used to ice skate 7 hours a day and she never took anything and she still had energy"
me: "No its not energy im taking this for...i want to gain and repair faster"
her: "that wont do anything like that, its just advertised like all those supplements. Its bad for your health, im old so i know this."

I just go Hmmhmm and continue adding my creatine as she complains about how thats un-natural...
me:"Its created naturally in the body..."
her: "well why do u need more of it then?"
me: "because it helps on recovery..."

*ARGHHH !!!! *imagines slapping her a few times* *

I'd like to see that article, but it would be rude to say "well i'd like to see that"

I just nod and say nothing...

If your High Protein Diet is bacon and eggs then yes it is bad. Adkins is a very bad diet because of the protein choices they say are ok.
I highly recommend all IronMagLabs supplements!
