BCAAs - are they worth it?

My dad (aged ~58) has been training since he was 18. He used to put on mass easily but these past 10 years he's been only maintaining.

Recently, he's read about the benefits of Leucine and so is now thinking of buying BCAAs (on top of his 1 or 2 day protein shake).

Are they worth it? Do they work?

I would really appreciate any help on this.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I use really high doses, but you could use a lot less to great benefit.

I have a serving of xtend with 4 of my 5 daily meals, and 2 serving when i train. So thats like 4 on off-days and 6 on training days.

Even if you had a serving with your largest carb meal of the day and 2 servings in a 2lt bottle that you drink before and during training, you'll be good.

If you're still classed as a "new lifter", you don't need to spend your money on it though.
