Reps are too low....bump it up to 6-10 reps if you want size.

Nothing wrong with 4-6 rep range for adding size.

I agree.....as long as you do reps in the range of 6-12 also. 1-5 reps is more for power lifting...you can do them from time to time but the staple of a size workout needs to be above 6 reps most of the time.

Actually the 4-6 rep range is the range used to activate the white fast twitch fibers. If you are genetically predisposed to have an abundance of this kind of fibers then this is where you will grow the most. In that rep range.

Same is true for red fast twitch fiber for the 8-12 rep range.

So all in all it just depends. Only I think it's unlikely to be one of the gifted atheletes with an abundance of white fast twitch fibers, statistically speaking.

They aren't the only big lads in the World. You can absolutely build size using 5 reps.

You can build size using any rep range.

The key is finding the correct rep range, and the correct training program for you. Some pros use 4-6 rep range, others use 15 plus. It varies. Experiment and see what works best.

Personally, 6-8 reps to failure works best for size for me, with occassionally going lower, and occassionally going higher.
