Quick questions about protein and glutamine

I'm running out of the overpriced GNC 100% Whey stuff I bought when I started lifting, so I'm in need of advice. I've been looking through polls and threads and now I am hoping to get some more specific information.

I hear people are now boycotting Optimum and their 100% Whey because of the company practices, so maybe I should abstain?

As far as quality, taste, and price, should I go with Optimum or Allthewhey?

Also, the Optimum claims to have 4 g glutamine per serving, so would I need to supplement my l-glutamine still or is this a sufficient amount if I'm taking a post-workout and before bedtime shake? Users on here mostly say 25 grams is a must daily for dramatic results.

If I do need an l-glutamine supplement, would something like alltheywhey's

Also, what are the opinions on allsportsnutirion's super cheap solid whey powder?

Additionally, would I want a Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Blend, or Whey Protein Isolate? And are there better supplements out there that provide a mix of casseine and whey in the same mix?

And finally, if these brands are no good, suggest a better one.

Like I said, I'm a relative newbie and have only used the GNC 100% Whey, which seems frowned upon, so despite the research I've done I'm greatly in need of your informed and experienced opinions. Thanks a lot, I hope you can help!

Can you give an example of Optimum Nutrition's poor company practices? I have not heard anything of it. I like their whey .

PreMier, in the Favorite Protein Powder thread, said "fuck optimum" with this link and after that people seemed to stop talking about how great Optimum was and start talking about switching to other brands. Probably no big deal though.

Do you have any thoughts on the questions I posed?
