    Expired supplements

I found some creatine and glutamine in my closet that i had forgotten about. I had stopped lifting because of a broken arm, and had about half the tubs left. The expiration date was for December 05 on the creatine and Feb. 06 on the glutamine. I was wondering if there's any harm to using them, and whether or not they would be ineffective. I figured i have nothing to lose, even if they aren't 100% as effective as new products. Also, is there some kind of way to know how effective they are in terms of a percentage of their original potency. I know the expiration date for most over the counter medicines is the date at which the product is at 90% potency, but didnt know if this applied to these supplements.

Use 'em. If anything, they lost a little potency, which is no big deal.

I've worked for supplement companies before and when supplements become expired they get sent back to manufacturers to test if its still good (which it usually is) then the product is just relabeled.
