How much is a lot of running in terms of number of times per week, and the duration of each session?

You may want to look into a fat burning product like Melting Point or Sesamin. Lean Extreme would also work well in the hypocaloric environment, because it keeps your cortisol levels in a state of equilibrium when normally they would be through the roof. LX also prevents muscle loss and thyroid suppression.
