    Why are bars so bad?

My daughter is dieting and she is an athlete so I am trying to make sure she gets adequate protien. She does not eat much meat. She likes certain bars. I of course said "well, those bars really aren't that great for you."

She said, "why?" and I could not give her a good answer.

Suger is the main objection, but the ones she likes has very little sugar.

Could someone give me a brief but decent answer to this question?

They aren't that bad, glycerol now needs to be labeled. As long as you are not ingesting 6 bars you are fine, although shakes are absorbed more quickly.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

I agree, they are not bad if used in moderation. Be aware of the simple carbs, and the higher fat, and the generally lower quality protein. But if they arent abused and total calories are taken into account, then can be a lifesaver.

I have editted my signature because I have been asked to remove my company name by the powers that be. Lest I be called a shill for failing to disclose my affiliation, please be advised that I am a part owner of a supplement company, and am biased beyond imagination.

What part do you own? The ass end?
