    Creatine on Off Days

Does anybody take creatine even on non-workout days? I do not and was wondering whether this reduces its effectiveness.

I take creatine every day, whether I work out or not. I did once try and take it only on training days, but felt that I did not get as much out of it.

A study on this would be interesting...

Same here. I take it pre-workout with grape juice and haven't noticed any difference.

do what the labeling says and you'll see results. The label goes both ways, either everyday or post workout.

That is way too much, you will piss most of that out. 5 grams should be sufficient.

Really, I figured 20 grams would be good.
    I'll try switching.
    Thanks.

Prince is correct. Once it is loaded in your system, no more than 5 grams per day is needed to maintain your stores. There is an upper limit to how much creatine your body will hold...after that it is simply excreted.

    I`ve tried both ways.

The way it works best for me is 5g in the morning on non-training days, and 5g pre and another 5g post on training days

taking creatine on off days can't hurt but there is not real reason as ATP stores are not being depleted due to muscular contraction from resistance training.

all of the latest studys show the best gains are made by taking 1/2 serving prior to training and 1/2 post workout or 1 serving post workout. I like to take my 10 grams post workout only on training days.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I remember you mentioning that a few times LAM...and thats why I tried taking it only on workout days, but in my case, I just didn`t get the results I get by taking it every day

hmmm...is your job physical in nature ?

no matter...at least you get results from it. many people do not, I don't think they are pushing them selves enough or paying enough attention to there training to take notice.

Kuso...physical? Seen the # of his posts? I have 'posting' envy....I wasted a whole 12 hour shift lastnight and didn't even break 30 posts....

Our palKuso here must average 30 per day to keep his highly exhaulted top posting status!

I'm trying the 5g prior and 5g post workouts. Will see if there is any difference in a couple weeks...

I'm bad abotu taking supps on days off...
Will add the 10g @ breakfast on days off....see how that works.
