Creatine + Protein.
I'm supposed to take creatine before and after workout, but what about my protein shake? I don't think my body can handle all that. If it was just creatine and protein, I could, but after the creatine I have to drink like 24 oz of water and I feel bloated beyond belief.
I used to drink a protein shake before and after, but how do i combine it with the creatine? I can't mix the two together because the creatine (cex) is disgusting enough as it is, so I can't stomach it if I combine. Also, what happens when I stop taking creatine after a while? Will I lose my gains? |

Creatine just puts a bit of water into your muscles, so as long as youre eating enough and lifting right your gains wont escape you.
Try mixing the protein and creatine together with something that has a pleasant flavour. Add a low fat yogurt or a banana or something. Or both, go nuts. At the end of the day, protein is more important than creatine. If you cant stomach both after a workout, why not take creatine before the workout, and protein afterwards?

Good call. I'm not really taking the Creatine to make me look bigger, just to get a good pump during my workout. I can't really tell if it made much of a difference, I'll give it one more try. Perhaps it was because I didn't drink a shake before my workout, I just had the creatine.
Anyway, I can TRY mixing the creatine with my protein shake. But the protein is chocolate flavored, while the creatine tastes like robitussin/battery acid. Thanks for your replies. |

What creatine are you using? I just use Monohydrate which is a tasteless white powder, perhaps you should look into that next time. I just put two little teaspoons of it into my pre-WO protein shake, then drink a glass of water. I only use it in an attempt to buffer lactic acid build up. The extra "mass" from water is negligable anyway if you skip the useless loading phase. How long have you been taking it? Itll take a few days, maybe even a week or more for the stuff to get fully into your system. Just keep taking it before working out with some water, and itll kick in eventually.

I am taking Ethyl-Ester. It's called CEX made by VPX.
Should I be taking it every day? Is it ok to just take it on my workout days? |

All the supplements and steroids in the world wont do anything unless your diet is good and your training is likewise. Supplements are SUPPLEMENTAL. Getting big and strong requires good diet first and foremost, then a well designed training program, a lot of time hard work and dedication, then supplements. Protein and creatine are the most useful, and the most popular. Get your diet and program in check, then think about supplements.
