I have a question, and im getting into creatine now. What does creatine actually do (besides showing greater muscle size by absorbing water) and increase energy, like wont it actually help build muscle faster while working out? Is it like protein or better?

Creatine = Buffers lactic acid buildup, increases strength a little, puts water on your muscles.

    Thats all.

Also, remember to keep slightly more hydrated when on creatine, since sometimes it can promote muscle cramp if you arent. Especially when you work out.

I had to stop the use of creatine because of crazy calf cramps , I drank 1 1/2 gallons of water every day, and still cramped, both calfs at the same time and dropped like a sack of potatoes. From a performance point of view its not worth it. Its like running a sports car with salt in the tank ,its just a matter of time before it siezes up.

I guess it varies on the brand and the person then, because i've never had cramp from it.

In fact, i dont think i've ever had cramp...

    What brand/dosage were you taking?

The first time it happened was about 4-5 years ago , was talking eas mono creatine ,5 grams a day , so last month i tried it again , this time vitamine shoppe brand creatine (mono) then went to nitrix. Great results , gained about 10 lbs. But then it happened again both calfs almost tore out of my skin (cramped).Bad deal. I drank plenty of water and all that song and dance.

If your only 15 , i would wait your still growing, liver , kidneys, just work out hard and eat right. I know that sounds boring.Maybe add creatine at 17 , 18 years old. Creatine is just going to add a little more water to your muscles so you will get that fuller look. Your not going to miss much with out it.

It must just be you then, some people are more prone to cramp than others and creatine probably didnt help that.

I guess you could try warming up/down better when you workout, but if it happened when you werent doing any exercise then im not sure what to say!

Just one of those things i guess. Its not critical anyway, its a good supp but i've made good gains with and without it.
