    Creatine

2 questions. Will eating creatine give u better and faster results than eating protein on the long run or should i eat both on a regular basis? And what is a really good source of creatine and how much should i eat daily, just as eating 1g of protein per bodyweight daily?

Start eating red meat if you want more creatine through diet. Other than that if you want to ingest it in supplement form that is up to you.

Well protein is a must, creatine as a supplement isnt. You dont need to take a protein supllements but eating protein is essential to any good routine for building muscle. Get you diet and workout routine down way before moving on to creatine. Read the stickies on this forum.

    I hope this helps.

    EDIT:

    P.S

No, do not take 1gram of creatine per lb of lean body mass, that is way too much!

Ok thamks kcoleman that answers my first question. Will creatine get u great hypertrophic results along with working out, because its fuel right? Or will u only gain muscle when having it with water so ur muscles increase in size?

dude, you are 15yrs. old and incredibly inpatient. Eat lots and lots of good food and be consistent with your diet. All of your threads are about some quick way to put on size, or change the bar path on an overhead press to increase delt size.

this shit takes time. you need to be consistent and just work on:

    1) eating a ton of healyh food

    and

    2) putting more weight on the bar

Do this for the next 5-6 years and I promise you that you wont be disapointed.

Creatine is a supplement. It is a good supplement. Like all supplements it is just that....to SUPPLEMENT your already healthy and consistent diet.

    Food supplies creatine as well.

Fifty percent of creatine in our bodies is made from other amino acids in the liver, kidney and pancreas, while the other 50% is ingested through the foods we eat. Wild game is considered to be the richest source of creatine, but lean red meat and fish (particularly herring, salmon, and tuna) are also good sources.

Creatine and Protein are two incredibly different things.

Creatine just puts some water on your muscles, and increases strength a tad as well as reducing lactic acid build-up. Thats all.

    It doesnt directly stimulate hypertrophy.

dude the reason ive been so impatient these past couple of weeks is because i have to gain as much muscle hypertrophy as possible before my sophomore year starts (dont ask). Im looking for the fastest and safest way possible and ive read that creatine can be used by teens so i wanted to know about that. It doesnt just give u fake muscle size (which is not the reason im asking but it would be cool) but also increases protein synthesis and gives u energy in ur muscles to get u to give it all u got and work harder in every rep, which will increase size and give results faster.

    a) why do you have to gain as much as possible by sophmore year?

    b) it is not physically possible to gain as much as you want.

    c) creatine can be used by anyone as long as the diet is sound and it supplements that!

    BE PATIENT!!

again, work on eating more and increasing the weight on the bar. that will help you gain as much as you can by your sophmore year. Stop worrying about the little things and focus on the bigger picture.

Ok theres not much of a chance that im going to win arguing with a moderator so i'll say this. Hows about i eat 1g/1lb of protein per bw and EFAs daily along with with some creatine in my diet to synthesize the proteins faster so just maybe... maybe my muscle hypertrophy will go up a little bit faster? Is that a good deal or just another bullshit plan thought up by a 15 yr old? You're the best man.

I would say you could take all the creatine in the world but your diet fucking sucks ass so you will see no hypertrophy.

what about carbs? what about a little more protein....mainly...WHAT ABOUT CALORIES!!!

You post 10 or 12 threads a day....do you read the replies at all? have you learned nothing?

I remember that well when i used to do Kung Fu. It always amazed me how these harmless looking people could land four punches and then get out of range before i even thought about blocking.

    Awesome stuff.

"These experiments test whether creatine, a product of muscular contraction, stimulates myofibrillar protein synthesis. It was found that skeletal muscle cells formed both in vitro and in vivo and cardiac muscle cells formed in vivo synthesize myofibrillar proteins faster when supplied creatine in vitro. The rates of synthesis and/or accumulation of three myofibrillar proteins-myosin heavy chain actin, and creatine kinase-were stimulated by creatine. In contrast, the rates of synthesis of total protein and of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and the activities of several nonmyofibrillar enzymes were not altered by creatine. These include lactic dehydrogenase, cathepsin D, acid phosphatase, and beta-acetylglucosaminidase. It is concluded that creatine selectively stimulated the rate of synthesis of contractile proteins in skeletal and cardiac muscle in vitro and may play a role in muscle hypertrophy."
