Go Hard Or Go Home.

I don't know if that's neccesarily true. I eat Peanut Butter before bed and I never get fat. But of course weight gainers are usually full of sugar, which is why I stick to real food. I would probably take it post work out, but I'm no expert on weight gainers. I've never taken one. Like I said, I try to stick to real food, it works best for me.

What brand is it?
it doesnt matter!
Thanks Myk thats the answer i was looking for.

He probably does not want to gain fat, but only muscle and for that to happen he needs lots of calories, so taking weight gainers doesn't mean a person wants to get fat.
You should take it in the morning and at night.
Yes.
But when you buy that stuff... you're paying a premium for ingredients you could better supply at home and toss into your blender.
I'm in need of calories. I find it much more efficient to buy whey... and milk, eggs, peanut butter, soy, oats, etc. - and blend into shakes.

I've never seen anyone gain anything from drinking weight gain, that crap always gave me the runs.
Drinking casein before bed did help gain a little weight
Take a whey supplement pre workout, something with a lot of MCT's for energy. Take the same after workout for muscle repair. Take casein protein before bedtime as an anti-catabolic. This is the best strategy. By the way, avoid as much as possible supplements with Aspartame and Splenda (sucralose). Aspartame is a killer, and Splenda is nearly as bad. Acesulfame K is not quite as bad. If you don't believe me, order a book called Sweet Deception. Good luck finding Protein supplements not ate up with all this stuff, so stupid! Muscle Milk Naturals is all natural. Have not found a Casein protein that is natural.
Stay off this stuff- bodybuilding is hard enough on the health without ingesting this poisonous crap. Keep it to a minimum.
I am not a big fan of the weight gainers either. You have protien and alot of carbs,(powdered fat ass).Go with your protien but I would watch those gainers because it's probably full of sugar.
If you do insist on taking it then I would say early in the day and at night as well but you are goung to gain some unwanted body fat most likely.
there are weight gainers without sugar (liek cytogainer) , But i think it is a good way to have a meal when u cant get to real or good food. From now on insetad of eating at my work, im gona either have some muscle milk + whey (if im working out) or i'll just have liek a weight gainer but not a whole serving.
but only if u cant get to real or healthy/good food.
Does anyone know of a casein protein without artificial sweeteners? thanks-Bohunk

A lot depends on your body composition. First, like others said here, read the bottle.
Finding it hard to gain, myself, I have tried numerous products. Some worked ok, but the stuff I use now, (don't know if it's allowed to mention brands here), I take post workout mixed with protein powder, then eat a meal within 45 minutes to an hour later. The trick is fiding products that taste good and don't mess with your digestive system resulting in gas & bloating.
Then eat more throughout the day, usually 3-4 small meals and then take the gainer/protein combo again at bedtime. The product I use has casien in it, which I hear is necessary for bedtime use, otherwise the product is wasted, so they say. I do know that by taking it the way I describe, I can get usually a lb. a day in weight gain. BUT YOU NEED LOTS OF CALORIES regardless of how you get them.
If you can get away with it and aren't to worried about residule health issues, add some fast food, (temporarilly), until you reach your weight gain goal.
After recovering from a bad visus that kept me out of the gym all during May, I dropped to 152 lbs.
Back in the gym in April, I started hitting the calories hard with my protein and gainer combos. Was getting as much as 4000 calories or more daily. Within 3 weeks I had packed on about 18 lbs. It all went on pretty clean. Did notice a bit of cottage cheese showing around the gut, so I cut out the fast food. I did lose a couple lbs, but the soft stomach came back to normal.
Hope this helps you.
NO...The other DOG looks like "ME"!
