    Yes...

The body of research is overwhelmingly supportive of the claim that melatonin boosts the immune system[17] thereby helping to fight many diseases[18]. Melatonin is an immunoregulator that enhances T cell production somewhat. When taken in conjunction with calcium, it is a very potent immunostimulator of the T cell response. Due to these immunoregulatory effects, it is used as an adjuvant in many clinical protocols.

    But....

However, it should be noted that melatonin's immune-boosting capacity may exacerbate autoimmune diseases and allergies, since these conditions involve an already overstimulated immune system. This possible connection remains the subject of investigation for several researchers.
(From Melatonin, The Anti-Aging Hormone by Suzanne LeVert, Avon Books, NY, 1995, page 85).

Melatonin plays a larger role in cell cycle control via the Circadian Rhythm receptors in its push-pull action with cortisol. It has role as antioxidant as well. Its immune regulation activity appears to be conjunctive with other dietary factors in the control of cancer.

A word of caution about using B6 at night in larger doses - it can disrupt sleep phasing after the melatonin supplement effect has worn off..

Your question is a good one..but loaded. I've written on the connection between melatonin, serotonin, transulfuration liver pathway connection to sleep and CNS disruption, atypical neurochemical activity in the brain and gut - extensively on another site.

Its a long story. I've alluded to parts of it on this forum, in various posts.

Hmm, off to do some reading then. Assimilating this shit can be mind bendy at times Thanks for the link.

Hey, when they're talking about methionine supplementation....they're talking SAM-e right? No worries, just reading at this point.

You'll want to read up on s-adenosyl-methionine.

Swiss_army knife type compound. Methionine has its own starring role (cysteine, too).
