is this ok?
g'day guys
Im 17 and have been training for about 1 year now. ive seen some ok gains and at the moment i take protein, creatine, a multivitamin and fish oil. I have 3 protein shakes a day and i take creatine right after ive finished training, i just finished a loading phase . I think it is ok what i take but a lot of people seem to always say "u dont need that much, u shouldnt take creatine its like a natural steriod, that stuff does more harm than good" and so on. I was just wondering if this amount is ok for a 17 year old. Im about 5'11 and 95kg (209 lbs) and my diet is fairly good and i think im getting about 3000 calories a day. Any advice on what i should or shouldnt take would be appreciated. Thanks guys |

i started creatine at 14 years old, 20g a day for 6 weeks. now i just take 10g a day for 12 weeks cycles. no loading tho. i found that i gain the same over a 4 week time no matter what i do.

yeh wat i do is to load i take 20g a day for 5 days then i just take like 5g a day for 3 weeks then i do the loading again. This is what the container said and what the guy in the shop said and it seems ok, but it is hard to load when im at school cause its 4 drinks of creatine a day when im loading and i find my self having to take a piss like every 10 minutes cause i try to drink heaps of water when im loading lol. Still it good to know that u took it at 14 and think its ok. Cheers mate.

Even with cee, i use 10g a day.
5g pre/post workout. otherwise mono, 5g pre, and 5g post. make sure you take your creatine with some fast digesting carbs post workout. I am 19 now, but still use creatine, and it still does its majik with me, even after using it on and off for 5 years. i drink like 24 ounces grape juice with eachserving. my first cycle i mixed it with coca cola, post workout. lol young and dumb, but it worked. |

yeh ive been taking it with powerade (its like gatorade) after a workout, so do u reckon i should bump up what im taking, like take 5 grams pre workout and 5 grams post work out. If i do that would i have to load or can i just do that for as long as i want?

lol i thought of taking it with coca cola but i thought the fizz might like ruin the creatine or something. Ive been taking it with warm water and it seems to mix in well and sometimes ill just add some sugar and it mixes even better but it taste kinda bad lol.

5 grams of creatine cannot be fully absorbed at once.

yeah i heard something about that. so would u recommend like taking 3 grams pre and then 3 grams post workout or is that still too close together?

A mod gave me an article about taking 5 grams at once that i'll have to dig up, but 3grams pre and 3grams post will be fine. Personally, I take it in a 2:2:1 ratio throughout the day. I can't take to much pwo with protein because I get dehydrated easily with that combo, and thats even with 2 gallons of water a day.

people over injest creatine and thats 4 sure.
the reason why most supps (capsule forms) have such little creatine in it, is because 2.5 g a day is practically alll u need in the long run. (speaking of mono) but i believe cycling is definitely recommended, 4-5 weeks on, 4-5 weeks off. |

ok thanks guys i think ill start doing the 3g before and after working out. i dont seem to get dehydrated and i try to drink 4 litres of water a day. Also just wondering would a heavier person have to take more or is it pretty much a set amount for most people?

hey thats what i've been doing but i have heard people saying that 5 grams cant be absorbed at once but at saying that i have also heard that taking some before working out can cause like stomach upsets and also the fact that some people say it doesn't really do anything pre workout. So i dont know i might just stick to taking 5 grams post workout till i run out and then i might try a different way.
