Whey and Casein

Whey during the day and casein before bed?

Am I right?

Casein is slower digesting, so yes it is suggested for when you will not be having your next meal for some time. Cottage cheese is also great at nite. Whey is faster digesting and great as part of your first meal of the day and for use around your workouts in PWO shakes.

I am glad this came up as I got a good question.

Say you mix a whey protein with milk (casein). Does the mixture of the two, slow down the total digestion process? Or does the body digest and use the protein while th ecasein "waits its turn?"

AKIRA I know a pro body builder who only mixes his whey with water as he wants to the protein to go into his system quickly, so that he can eat an hour 2 later.

that is fine, but casein during the day will not hurt you.
