Recovery: how to optimize it
Hey guys, I am a powerlifter and the day after my legs day, I am exhausted! I normally do not need a lot of sleep. After a leg day, I need 12hrs! I can also develop a slight cough, which tells me my immune system is tapped. I am taking in protein every 3 hours. I ice-up if there is any soreness. What can I honestly do to 1) optimize my immune system 2) speed up/optimize my recovery?

I bought some bulk BCAA powder just to give it a try because I never have, and I feel I recover much faster since I've been taking. I also take CEE, taurine, protein. I also added Glutamine for the first time, at the same time as the BCAA's, but i believe it is the BCAA's doing the work because majority believe glutamine is worthless. I usually take 3-5g's am, and 3-5 after workout, added right into protein shake. Seems to be doing me good. Just an idea for you to give a try because no one knows what works for them til they try it.

I would also be curious to see your diet, but since you're asking about supps you may consider this one: ETS – Extreme Training Support

Recovery: how to optimize it
I believe that anyone can see steady gains with proper nutrition and exercise. Throttle Matrix is a great energy supplement. I saw at their site ::: Myochem::: MYCHEM 2012 is also available now. This is a product worthy of every penny paid and one that has found a home on my shelves!!!

I would suggest lots of fruits and vegtables to fix the immune system and also help with general recovery. There is something about real vitamins from food that manufactured multi-vitamin/mineral supplements cannot compete with.
The more fruits and vegtables I eat, the better my results and the healthier I am. Everyone knows to eat enough protein, but most neglect the benifits of lots of fruits and vegtables. Don't stop at 5 servings a day. I personally eat at least 10 servings per day. |

Prpoer nutrition comes first, but if that is in check get some antioxidants and BCAAs.
