Can protein "go bad"???

I bought a 4lb container of Whey protein about 2 years ago. since then ive used more than half, but i kinda stopped working out for awhile. im starting up again, and i still have my Glutamine and Protein containters, but my protein says it expires March/07. Does that mean it wont be as effective? will some compound in trhe protein spoil or something, or is it still ok to keep taking it? I would ideally like to keep using my protein, cuz I have pretty much 2 lbs left.

I see no reason for the protien to just go bad because of some date printed on a container. If the protien has been kept in an airtight container (say the one it came in with the lid on) and out of the heat (say kept in the house) you will have no issues with it. In fact you should be ordering some more as by the time you consume the 2 lbs the new batch will be at your door step.
