I think anyone who is 'supplementing' with insulin has some fucking balls!
Just curious, has anyone here ever supplemented their creatine use with insulin? thoughts

If you aren't diabetic, then supplementing with insulin is a crazy idea.
Are you diabetic?

I am !

Unlike creatine, you can't exactly purchase insulin off the shelf. Sounds like a really bad idea to me because the potential for screwing up is so great.

im a type 1 diabetic, i dont c how taking more would help u in the gym. if ur bgl drops then how does that create an advantage?
Alot of pros use insulin. Most who do use it will inject right after a workout with a creatine shake to force the creatine into the muscles.
Also, a carbohydrate drink is usually consumed with the insulin so your body doesn't go into shock.
actually this isn't true, insulin can be bought anywhere at anytime by anyone, you don't need a scrip, diabetics need to be able to get it when they need it. yeah sure the slin can be dangerous but I'm just talkin a small post wo injection of a few iu's. if you wade into it very slowly and make sure your carb intake is sufficient you should be all good. it something you definitely need to be educated before you try it but its an incredibly anabolic hormone and all the rest of this game is trying to manipulate your insulin levels anyway. thanks for the responses

in the uk, it is only prescribable. ie not otc

really, what do diabetics do when they aren't in their home area and need to procure some 'slin , they must have to travel with their scrip with them. It may be a bad idea, I know its really efficient and synergistic when running a test ester, I just figured that you want an insulin spike when taking creatine to shuttle optimally, and with that logic just goin right to the source seems logical. just thought I'd float it
In the UK, diabetics can buy lil cool kits to keep the insulin cool but if there is an emergency for some reason, they can go into any pharmacy and just present an empty or vial of insulin and get an emergency script.
as for the insulin spike, instead of playing such a risky game, you could perhaps just have 25-50gram of simple sugars post workout?

Yes insulin is very anabolic, but too much can cause an increase in catabolic hormones. Otherwise an all sugar diet would be good for gaining muscle.
when insulin is used properly, it is the most anabolic and safest ''thing'' we bodybuilders can take.
Insulin is absolutely wonderful with a high glucose (dextrose) post workout supplement and whey. I can gain muscle and lose fat just focusing on post workout nutrition with my insulin shots. I have maybe 150 grams of protein on workout days and am gaining strength and size.
So in my opinion, used correctly, insulin is very potent for anabolic purposes. Non diabetics need to stick to 5-6 IUs. That dose won't kill you (your liver should be able to supply some glycogen before you completely go into shock). Still, have a can of pepsi with you just in case.
