got a question: bcaa's vs whey

I would get the same muscle sparing effect of the whey by taking bcaa's before and after workouts, right? I'm cutting so i'm trying to figure out how i can cut some more calories here and there.

edit: i know i'll need fruit or some sort of low gi carb for glycogen replishment.

How many calories do you get with a serving of BCAA's?

the one i was going to get has 15 calories per scoop, but it's because it has some flavoring added.
