    BCAAs during bulk?

I search this forum for "BCAA" in an effort to find out how best to take some BCAA Ethel Ester that I have acquired. There seems to be some dispute as to whether it's necessary while bulking at all.

Some said take it before and during your workout regardless of bulking or not. Some said don't take it at all if your bulking as you'll get enough BCAAs just from food.

I'm 6'2", 172lb, 10-11%bf (if that high) and bulking. I'm eating 3,600-3,800 clean kcal daily in six meals, three hours apart. My protein intake is around 350-380g daily.

Is there really any point me taking my BCAAs at all? Or should I save them until I start cutting and eating less (planned for Jan'-Mar' '08)?

    w/thx,
    G.

Well, many people will say if you're bulking chances are you're eating a lot of protein (or at least you should be) and getting plenty of BCAA's already.

Personally I think they are effective when cutting especially taken pre/post-work-out, whether or not you need to supplement them on a bulk is debatable, either way it would not hurt to take them.

Kewl. Thx. I think I'll just keep 'em then.

While you're here, do you have any thoughts on L-Glutamine? I'd been taking that PWO, but was recently told that unless my WO sessions were extensive (2-3hours) then it wasn't necessary becuase my body maintains an ample supply. I'm in and out of the gym in an hour usually so now I'm left wondering whether I need the L-Glutamine too.

    Thoughts?
