This was posted in "Supplements". Doesn't that apply to all companies?

Whey Shortage from what I remember.

Seems a little ludicrous, since whey is a by-product from basically any dairy production.

    What caused the price increase?
Similar to the rising cost of fuel that is directly influenced by ongoing supply and demand, milk protein pricing is directly related to the "supply versus demand" of milk. While the actual price is determined by an index posted weekly through the Chicago Board of Trade, it is driven by the worldwide demand for milk. Over the past several months there have been and continue to be a steady rise in demand for milk products in China and, to a lesser degree, other developing countries. The demand was further increased by low milk production in New Zealand brought on by drought conditions and higher animal feed costs. In addition, the pressure to meet the demand with US milk supplies caused prices to increase further. The impact was lessened a bit early on by the US Government but, that support has stopped which resulted in the rapid price increase seen over the last three months. With milk protein (i.e. whey protein) purchase contracts expiring, most companies are being hit with greater than 40% price increases.

I think he means that your company should post it in your own forum because other companies whey might not be increasing, aka false advertisement.

    good info

Absolutely, alot of demand on whey right now....from big food companies which are starting to use more of it there foods, too international demands. Soon, whey will be more expensive than Egg protein........egg was the original protein if you remember. I still use it today.....it as a hige P.e.r. than whey and tastes better too. Whey origninally came out because it was so cheap compared to egg..........thats how it took over....not because its better for you. Egg protein will get you harder denser muscle. Im not saying swap just yet, but by the end of the year....im sure whey will be higher than egg protein.

    im out

Egg protein supplements contain all the essential amino acids needed by the body to build big muscles!
