Question about pre-game supp's.
I play college hockey, im 21, but at the same time Im trying to improve on alot of things. Im waiting on any real muscle building until the off-season, but right now Im doing a hard skating work out 5 days a week. The only thing Ive ever taken since high school was whey protein, and Ive been thinking about adding some simple flaxseed. The only other work-outs I do is core stuff, nothing too special.
My real question is just that theres alot of times when I have back to back games coming off practices. Im looking for something to just give me a little extra boost and keep my muscles up to strength, especially when my games are on back to back days and very high intesity. My protein almost seems like its falling behind since I increased my daily work. I already eat my normal pre-game meals the day before, carb-loaded. Like I said Ive heard alot about some different supplements that others on my team take, creatine, that no-xplode stuff, and others I forget. Im kinda new when it comes to any real supplements, so I figured Id ask people who knew what they were talking about. Im in good shape right now Im just looking for something to keep my muscles going that extra push. I will be taking these pre-game, and I do drink a ton of water at all times. since this is my first post, I guess I should say Im happy I found this site and hopefully to contribute some when I actually get back into muscle building or feedback with others, even tho most of you are way more experienced than me already lol Thanks for anything |

Which Creatine product actually works the best?
Should I try that NO-Xplode stuff that alot of my friends use? I dont really have the opportunity to order things from the internet in my current situation so Im kind of stuck. Thanks. |

CEE is the type you should get. have a friend order it for you then, or open a checking account and get a debit/check cash card. here is a good price(kilo is only 35$)
Creatine Ethyl Ester HCL Powder [100 Grams] - $6.99

here is my routine for a game. i have a meal usually 2 hours pre game. 30 minutes pre game i take a serving of my energy powder (Steel Edge from Athletic Edge Nutrition or my second choice is Driven from MRM pick one, not both). During the game is switch between water and a carb sports drink ( a dilluted bottle of Cytomax from Cytosport). I said i switch because i dont want to drink nothing but the carb drink because i dont want stomache issues, so ill take a sip of the carb and then the rest will be water in between shifts. Post game I take a scoop and a half of Vitargo (professional supplements) and a scoop or Essential Amino Acids (primal eaa from primaforce). You dont need to do that post game I just found recovery is quickest with that, i could play another game within 10-15 minutes. On the ride home i eat a Sustain bar (designer supplements). thats what I do, and I find it works. avoid arginine heavy products pre game. let me know if you have any questions. |

get on a good strength and conditioning program. If you aren't prepared to play, no supplement will save you.

I wouldnt really say thats the problem. I play at a very high level and never had a problem keeping up. This is just kind of an exploration process since I see so many people around me using things that can help. I mean, if the products are there to help with recovery time and performance, then why not take advantage of them? I just came here because Im unexperienced and would rather here real advice from people that know what they are talking about. Im not looking for an easy way out
