Green tea extract, caffeine, and carnitine
In the Nov. issue of M&F I was reading an article 'The "Do Not Do" List: GETTING LEAN' pg 138
It's basically saying if I am not taking the following supps it will result in a downshift in my progress: 200-400 mg of caffeine with breakfast 200-400 mg of caffeine 1-2 hrs pre-wo 500 mg green tea extract (three times daily) including one serving before wo 1-2 grams carnitine (three times daily) including one serving before and one serving immediately after wo. Along with hard training and sound dieting I take: 5g creatine mono immediately after wo 2-3 whey protein mixed with water with glutamine and basic bcaa included (36g of whey protein per serving) , pre and after wo multi-vitamin ( Is it worth adding the questioned supps to this list at the recomended dosages is the question ????)I am 32 yrs young, 5'11, 201 lbs. with 19% bf Basically my goals are to Gain Mass while losing Body Fat Thanks in advance for input ![]() |

The claimed benefits of the supps are as follows:
Caffeine binds to fat cells to enhance fat-burning during exercise Green Tea prevents the breakdown of the metabolism- regulating neurotransmitter norepinephrine (whatever that is?) Carnitine helps transport fat into the mitochondria of cells, where they're burned for energy |

It isn't necessary. I think a clean diet will help achieve success better then any supp. Especially when claims come from a magazine, who usually have some type of sponsor paying for those articles.
However, I do like GTE and I would switch Caratine to Alcar. |

Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

So I take it Prince recommends the GTE. What about the Alcar?
my wife found me some GTE at Costco. TruNature Green Tea Standardized Extract Green Tea 600mg EGCG 300 mg Epigallocatechin gallate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Caffeine 42 mg Started taking them yesterday, we'll see how they work. Pretty affordable, 320 softgells under $20. Gonna shop around for the Alcar today. Thanks for the feedback |
