First off I want say hello to everyone, this is my first post, and give a little info about my situation before I get to my question.
I'm 21 and have been pretty sedentary for about 2 years. In high school I was involved in several sports and was very active in the gym. For the majority of my teenage years I was in excellent shape and was proud of my build. After entering college however I stopped lifting but I've gotten to the point where I just want to avoid mirrors, so I hit the gym again about 3 weeks ago. Before I had used what was recommended by my trainer and didn't obsess too much about supplements, but now that I'm older I feel I need something more. I've searched and searched and like most people I have a hard time weeding out hype and reality. I know I'm at risk for a pretty good flame (i.e. "search the forums!!") but with 470 pages to review and so many different angles to look at I need help. I want to gain some serious mass and would like some suggestions for supplementing my routine and diet. Aside from that I'd like to avoid things that might be detrimental to my health because there is an insane presence of hereditary heart problems in my family. From what I've seen here this seems to be a pretty good place to seek help and I would seriously appreciate any advice.
