there is no real reason to take whey other than post workout.

you would do much better using a blended protein like Optimum's Pro Complex, the various proteins all modulate at different rates giving a longer steady stream of amino's into the blood stream. the different amino acid profiles of the proteins also complement each other...

great, where should I pick some of this stuff up at? Oh and is this good at all for right after my workouts as well? Or should I stick to the whey for that?

Agreed. Vanilla sucks....and it SUCKS bad.

The Optimum Nutrition chocalate and strawberry aint bad, but still has that lingering cardboard flavor in it. Other than that, I like their products.

I use a blend of micellar casein, caseinate, and soy with some flax to further slow the digestion.

You can get Optimum's Pro Complex (4.4 pounds) at vitaminplanet.com for about $40. I'm sure you can get it at plenty of other places too.
There's one way to find out....

    Check the
Protein Factory. You can get any kind of protein you want. If you use their custom mix option you can get any ratio of whey, casein, soy, egg,,,, whatever.

I started ordering from them about a year ago. Now its the only protein I use.

I go to Protein Factory and buy different blends for my needs ie. MRP, Postworkout and their Performance Creatine. Whey protein is harsh but the different blends of sugars gets it into the muscle quickly after workout

I usually avoid anything that is chocolate "flavored" like the plague. Alot of companys are making Strawberry Cream flavors which are better. Some can pull off the Vanilla, but I do agree, some vanillas are pretty repulsive.

Just go to www.ProteinFactory.com and find the formula for your needs. On their page they have articles that will answer your questions. Most of what your looking for is already blended if its not they will tell how it will taste, mix and cost.
