    Supplements I NEED

Here's a list of supplements I take. Sometimes I feel I don't NEED all of them, but I'm not educated in terms of supplementation.
    I'm 19
    this is my diet:
    Meal 1:
    - 1 cup fiber one
    1/2 cup soy
    1/2 c egg whites
    1 egg

    Meal 2
    - 1 cup cottage cheese

    Meal 3
one can tuna or 3 oz chicken
    salad
    2 tbsp light dressing

    meal 4
    - whites, or cottage cheese or piece of fruit

    meal 5
    same as 3

    now here are my supplements
    - cod liver oil
    - udos oil
    - unisex multi vitamin
    - folic acid
    - coenzyme Q10
    - Calcium
    - vitamin D
    - B complex
    - kelp
    - digestive supps
    - 1 scoop greens (vitamin rich)

    what should i add/take out
You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear.

Check that multivitamin, it probably has enough folic acid/calcium/vitamin D/vitamin B already in it.

Also make sure the multivit is a quality brand - I don't know anything about that one. Jodi recommended Pure Nutrient 250 to me, so that's what I've been using.

No idea what some of the other ones do though. I will say be careful with the fish oil and check your brand. The one I used months ago was of a lower quality and it caused my liver enzymes to spike at literally 10x their normal levels, although thankfully nothing bad came of it.

Just looked it and up and unless you have some condition, I'm not sure why you're taking that coenzyme Q10.

You might do better by increasing your daily amount or throat guppies and iron.

Did you get a recommendation on that? What was it you were using? What would you look for in a higher quality fish oil? Thanks!

I take the CoQ10 on the recommendation of my dad who swears by it. He says it just makes him feel better when he uses it. From what I know of it, it is something that your body makes, but makes less of as you get older, so therefore, I don't know if you need to be taking it at age 19 cause it is expensive as I am sure you know, but for me at 33, it was worth a try.

Oh, and you could probably just get a good multi with a lot of the b-complex already in it, to eliminate the need for an extra pill or two. I would also add in extra vitamin C, 3-5 grams per day.

To be honest I don't really know good fish oil companies, I just use ATW brand now. I was using like Nature's Promise fish oil from stop and shop when that happened.

I'm sure like Iain/Jodi and the like will have a better idea of what good fish oil is.

Speaking of which, where has Jodi been?

basically you arent taking anything that is completely wasteful, but you are taking some things that might be extraneous. you seem to have reasoning though.

well you have a set up of health related supps, the argument could be made to drop or keep them, as far as dieting, none of the supplements are applicable for that, but dieting and working hard should do.
