Muscle Milk

Hi Im new to supplements and havent worked out seriously in about ten years. I am planning on using muscle milk to help me lose my gut but also gain muscle. I know most protein shakes taste really bad which is one of the main reasons for trying it. will it do what I want? I work out 4 days a week for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. thanks for any help.

you need to have a solid diet, a protein supplement will help some, but its a supplement.

what are your stats? whats your diet like? what kind of program are you doing? cardio?

I think muscle milk tastes really chalky. Like Premier said you need more than protein shakes.... there are other supplements that could help if you want to get serious. but I think exercise alone will help you if you just wanna get in shape.

In my opinion, it looks like you want your outside to look the way you feel deep inside. You know how hard you've worked to get where you are, and the physical expression of the internal strength is why you like the idea of muscle -Kane

my diet was pretty bad, new years resolution kinda thing happening here. I've already made a lot of changes to my diet and I work out 4 days a week I do an ab routine as well as 1/2 an hour of cardio all 4 days, I have been going to the gym for about 1 1/2 months now. I would like to increase size and strength and be somewhat chiseled, but I don't want to weigh 350 pounds. Right now I way about 190 and would like to be about 200 to 205, so I am looking to do more than just get into shape.

Check out the stickies in the training and diet & nutrition sections. Tons of great info on how to set up a proper routine and get your diet in check. Don't try to do too much too soon and over train, you just end up susceptible to injury and it doesn't help the gains you want to make either. For sups I use a good multi, creatine, and fish oil. I don't like muscle milk, I use ON Gold. It's a little expensive but I actually like the taste.

Peace!

Muscle Milk isn't a very good post-workout option IMO

exactly.

I usually drink a shake before I go to bed, the other night me and my two roommates were smoking late night and I got up to get my shake. Both insisted on trying it and both are buying jugs of it now simply for the taste.

I thought that was pretty funny.

I think MM is a great drink to have before bed because of the contents. I wouldn't use it post or pre workout however, since it doesn't contain a majority of whey isolates or very many carbs.

I can say that when I drink one before bed, I can usually just have the shake and it holds me over for the entire night, which is probably because of the high fat content.

I've never tried the powdered MM, only the rtd's, and personally I thought it tasted like ass. Is the powdered better?

The RTD's taste like dog shit, the powders are better.

The two best and I've tried quite a few are Cookies & Cream and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
