    Amino acids: rip off?

I have been wondering for some time about the neccesity of amino acid tablets or capsules as a suppliment:
as we all know protiens are made up of amino acids and a good quality protien suppliment contains all the neccesary aminos and in the right ratios for building muscle tissue. My question is this:

What can amino acid capsules do that a protien shake cannot? In other words - what is the substance in those capsules if not just protien powder? Are we just being sold an ultra refined, high quaility protien powder in capsules, at 3 - 4 times the price it would cost to buy in a tub?

I apologise if i am showing my ignorance here.

I would not waste money on amino capsules, instead spend your money on a whey protein powder.

I felt that 2-4 g of aminos before the workout benefit me a lot. If I take shake, I feel too full. Aminos are fast-acting, and according to Dr.Pain (I like his explanation) you almost immediately elevate the level of aminos in your system thus signaling your body do not catabolize muscles anymore.
Another thing (kinda long shot) is that you cannot guarantee that the product of protein degradation will be a set of amino acids from which it was formed. Like a brickhouse being demolished, sometimes you have 2-3 bricks, sometimes half of it. Denaturation and degradation is a complex process. Add bioavailability (transport) and you have SERIOUS differences between aminos and any form of protein...

If you are ingesting high quality protein drinks, MRP's etc they are not neccessary.

But BCAA's are a whole different story, they are a bodybuilders best friend !

I take Amino Acids with my meals , after i lift , and before bed. The high quality brands like PRD-NitroMine , Beverly-Mass Aminos , APT-Aminos etc.. are excellent and they definetely make a difference for me.
