new need advice

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS
High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com
Brand new to the site, been doing a lot of research lately on supps because i want to start taking something a bit more than what im taking right now which consists of NO-Explode, Cell mass, and protein (sidenote-guy at my local nutrition store told me to try axiom/aftershock by MBI instead of going the NO-Explode/cellmass route). Ive been lifting for over two and a half years now: 19 years old, 5'8" 175lbs. Im looking for a good muscle/strength gainer because i cant go up in my lifts and im starting to get bored at the gym, weight gain also seems impossible at the moment. Im also looking for something to get rid of the gyno that ive had for a few months now. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hey there

The gyno - is this just from adolescence, or did you run something?

Re the weight gain - you will gain if you eat more. No supplement in the world will help you if you don't get in enough calories.

How many calories are you eating now? And can you describe your workouts? PS welcome to the board.

As for the gyno, it could be from either. i took a supplement given to me by my uncle who swore by it called oxydrol-12 when i was 17, 2 years ago. I, being 17, did not take the time to look this up before i took it and i never went through proper PCT after a 6 week cycle of the supp., which after doing all this research just recently makes me feel moronic to say the least. But the gyno hasnt appeared until recently (few months ago), so i was hoping that it wasnt that and just adolescence.

As for my calories, ranges between 1800-2300 each day, depending on if i train that day, more if i train less if i dont(may be weird but i dont feel i deserve to eat a lot if i dont train).

Workouts - ill try to give as much information without going to in depth. I do 4 days on 1 day off. First two days is focused on chest/back, last two on shoulders/arms. Ill also do pushups right after every workout, 500 is what i shoot for, sometimes ill reduce that amount depending on whether or not i decide to swim laps after my lift. I will rarely incorporate legs into my workouts because i play hockey 2-3 times a week, plus i despise squatting.

Oh, and i dont know if this is relevant, but it seems like after i get done with a workout the gyno seems to be less inflamed.

What do you do for legs?

The 500 pushups are doing nothing to promote size by the way. And no offense, but you eat like a little girl, son! I'm old enough to be your mother, I weigh a buck forty soaking wet, and MY maintenance is 2200!

You have got to increase your food intake!

Hockey is great, but you need to do some heavy leg work! Learn to love the squat.

You at least do deadlifts?

PS can you go see your doc and get something from him/her? Nolva for example? You're not the only teen to get gyno, even without the PH.

for legs, calf raises, leg extensions/curls , i do leg press but not that often. Yes i do deadlifts that for sure. Seems reasonable to think i havent been eating enough, silly to think i havent really gave that much thought.

I'd ditch the leg extensions and curls - leg curls really don't do anything, and leg extensions heavy enough to promote growth will trash your knees in no-time flat. Trust me when I tell you how you will miss them when they are gone.

Leg press is... um, okay I guess, as a second exercise after squats. I personally don't do them, they're hard on my back and do nothing front squats won't do better.

What, exactly, is it that you don't like about squats? Have you done real squats - that is to say, free, not smith, and below parallel?

For hams, consider glute ham raises, good mornings, split squats (these also hit quads). Also RDLs (Romanian deadlifts). All of these are the SHIT!

Video Index <- great site for vids by the way. Look up barbell squat.
