Question
Hello. I was here a few months ago asking about working out and this site has helped me a lot.. I am back here because I had a quick question about what kind of protein powder i should get? I was looking around and i found out about this being the top seller.. I just want something simple and I am in high school my weight is 145 and I was thinking about just taking 50g of protein after workouts (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
Bodybuilding.com - Optimum 100% Whey Protein - With Faster-Acting HYDROWHEY! On sale now! ... Its called Optimum 100% Whey Protein With Faster-Acting HYDROWHEY! I mainly want protein just to help build muscle and I am only taking 50g because I am just starting to take it.. I was just wondering if you could tell me if this is just protein? i don't want anything like creatine or some other stuff.. just protein. Thank you |

That is a great choice for a simple, affordable protein.

Great choice, don't take 50g after a workout. Waste of supps, take 1 scoop which is 24g of protein with water for faster digestion. To much at once you will just piss it out. Good luck bro

I don't see a problem with 50g. there are no studies showing a set amount of maximum protein uptake. It varies with individuals and PWO 50g. could very well all be used.

thank you for the reply.. people at my school were telling me to take 80-140g to start.. but some of them also don't care about there future because they take some crazy stuff that messes with their hormones and some take steroids and since i care about my future well being i don't trust them haha.. which is why i am here because this site is trust able
so is 50 grams good to start out or 1 scoop 24g? I do full body on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.. I finish working out around 3:15-3:30 so when should i take the protein? and I only take protein on the days i worked out right? |

a strength training athlete should aim for 1.5-1.7g per kg of bodyweight. the goal is to get this from food, but if you cant use the powder to fill in the gaps. this is everyday.
something that will help you recover is carbs and protein post workout. my cheap suggestion is get vanilla protein, and gatorade powder from target or walmart. mix 35g of the gatorade with a scoop of whey and take that post workout. |
