Myostatin Binders - for Real

I have been reading all the recent muscle mags, and I noticed that there are three companies, Pinnacle, Biotest Labs, and Cytodyne, that are touting a new Myostatin binder, that will take the goveners off muscle. The ads (and believe me their are several of them) tout that this is a revolutionary breakthrough in technology, and it can turn the average man into super man!!!

What do you guys know about this? Is it for real, or just a lot of hype?

Adn last of all, after Reading Muscle Developemnt mag, the said the the Myostatin protien is used to inhibit muscle growth, but it also is used to prevent cancer. Well cancer is the LAST thing I want!!!

You thougth are greatly appreciated!!!

I am not saying that I believe it is crap but there isnt enough "street research".I would wait another 6 months and see if that stuff is still the talk of the town. Gopro is testing it and he gained like 5 pounds so far in 6 weeks. I dont think that was from the stuff but rather proper nutriction.

Is that 5 lbs of water, fat etc. Once more research has been doen then we will know. This is just another one of those big hype jobs they are putting on. Like when DHEA came out. It was supposed to do wonders. Don't believe the hype until true results have been seen or heard by you or a friend etc. just my .02 cents

Here is a quote form another bb board from a member who has been designing nutritional supplements for the past 25 years...

"There is NOTHING on the market that contains ANYTHING that will influence the protein gene myostation....PERIOD. Everyone of the supplement companies are trying to cash in on the recent "press" surrounding research that is actually 4 years old now - most of these studies were conducted in 1998 and 1999 and were published in 2000 and 2001 in peer reviewed journals....so in the scientific community this is old news - BUT in the bodybuilding world it is the "latest greatest"....and what better than to show mice and cattle with gene altered muscylar development (as the animmal studies have been going on for over a decade).....but because of the latest round of media - companies are trying to cash in on it. Plain and simple...RIP OFF.

The only product offerings (sports supplement products) on influencing the body "around" the myostatin gene is to support other natural pathways that are affected by myostatin via influencing their response to the myostatin....this has little to NO promise.

The only REAL thing that has a direct and effective influence on myostatin is fallostatin (another protein gene) - and this gene has a very specific amino acid sequence - and it directly inhibits the myostatin gene. So in reality - BEFORE any product will work effectively IT MUST have some similarity to the amino acid sequence of fallostatin (as this is the ONLY recognized and designated inhibitor of myostatin - identifed through ALL of the scientific study) - and this will be no easy task (it may in fact not even be possible) - but here in lies the true challenge (and answer) short of fallostatin itself.....anything else is a waste of money.

And as one post asked...."what will it do for me"....the answer is simple - "it will put your wallet on a diet....and rid it of all of your cash". Don't be taken in by marketing BS and hype."

Thumbs up Great advice. Saving me money it the sh!t

This is the best advice I have gotten all week. I was getting ready to go buy this shiat. Thanks for keeping my wallet off the diet. I need to plump it up a little more (my wallet). I like a fat wallet (not fat chicks). I will use the money to go buy some protein. I have not gained any good weight in over 3 years. My physique has changed for the better but my weight has not. Even protein seems to nothing when it comes to me gaining weight. I recover faster with protein but still no mass. My strengeth has went up over the years but still no weight. My myostatin gene is working. I heard sea vegetables can inhibit the myostatin gene.
Any info on this ? Thanks for the info. It is really appreciated since I am not rich !!!
