I'm a hardgainer and getting frustrated. I new some advice on products!

I've tried several times over on eating right and gaining weight. I'm 6'2" and about 155. I starting working out and eating hard and it taks months to get up to 165 and almost impossible to keep it there. A friend of mine has suggested to go the illegal route. He feels that if I get some good quick gains It'll better influence me to stick with it and not give up. Also help with my confidence. My problems is if I do go down that route i just want to do one cycle (4-8 weeks) and stop. He says that I'll need to take some blockers along with it and post-cyle what not. If I decide to do this, how long do I have to take the post cycle stuff before I can quit everything altogether? He gets his stuff online and I've seen the very same stuff on other websites for the same price and was going to order it myself but he warned me of getting some "bunk" stuff. I've also read about pro-hormones and natural testosterone boosters like 6-0x0 and thought about taking something like that at a more slow and simple pace but as much trouble as I've had I'm afraid I'll get frustrated. I eat more than people twice my size and can hardly gain a pound. Doc say's I must just have a REALLY high metabolism and we ran tests...every thing was negative. I was almost hoping for a problem...lol. I've done alot of research and I'm willing to try almost anything. Thanks in advance on any help with product tips or anything else!

I was in the same boat about 6 years ago in college...assuming your 21 or older the illegal route is an option, but it comes with a cost. Everyone's body reacts differently to gear and I would only use it as a last resort...IMHO pro hormones and natural test boosters are just marketing ploys that do not yield effective and long lasting gains.

How many calories are you consuming? How many g of protein/carbs/fat?
What is the frequency of your meals? How old are you? Have you tried consuming 400-800 calories in the middle of the night yet? (waking up and drinking a high calorie shake and then going back to bed)

Before anyone give's you any advice about cycling here, you should post some more info about yourself....if you still want to that route, head to the anabolics room and post your questions there. There are some very experienced posters there who can help guide you.

I was keeping track of calories for a while but like i said I try really hard for a few months and with no gains I started falling off my schedule. Then I get frustrated and start trying again. I'm 25 by the way and I've never tried the whole waking up in the middle of the night and eating or drinking anything, although I do right before bed.

I eat 3 to 4 meals a day and try to eat "right". I even have meal replacements on hand when needed, my my "meals" are usually 3-4 hours apart.

give us an idea of your daily food/calorie intake.
if you can't gain any weight (fat or muscle), the bottom line is you are not eating enough calories.
3-4 meals...try 6-7. that's what it takes for most anyway. trust me, i've been in the same shoes you are in. eating should basically become your full time job, no joke. follow that up with the gym and sleep and you'll be set.
pro-hormones/steroids will only cause dependency in your case...not to mention other (possible permanent) side effects if not researched properly.
Only supp I would recommend is creatine and protein. If you feel the need, buy a weight gainer, but you can easily make a cheaper, healthier version of your own using your whey protein.
    good luck

    1. Tell your friend to go suck a tail pipe if that's his explanation of a reason for using gear! Moronic...
    2. You gained 10. Over how many months? If it was solid, it takes time for the average joe to put on good weight, especially after a plateau. What are you gonna do after your cycle? Remember you are trying to give your body a reason to store more nutrients. You do realize that's what youre doing right? Its like diet pills. You can take some that work. You lose 100 pounds but you havent changed the underlying problem. So what happens after you stop the "drug"?
    3. Whats your body composition like?
    4. If you're not keeping at least a close estimate of your calories, fats, proteins, and carbs then go to bed. There is no quick easy way to magically gain lean mass. (I take it you want lean mass). And everybody is going to tell you to keep track. Because you may think youre eating "right", whatever that means. But you don't have a clue if youre not tracking it.
    5. How old are you? In puberty? close to it?
    6. Genetics
    7. What kind of foods are you eating?
    8. Eat some more
    9. Oh yea, and eat some more

Merkaba just posted the best post ive seen in a while, all very true.

Doesnt matter how good the supplement companies make their products, if you arent helping yourself their stuff wont help you either. They are SUPPLEMENTS - supplemental means in addition to, in this case in addition to good training and diet.

Steroids are the same deal, except when you're on them your has to be even better, you have to eat even more, and you have to train twice as hard. If you cant keep up with your body's needs now, theres no way you'll be able to do it when you're jacked up to holy hell.

Seconding (thirding? fourthing?) the need for more info.

What EXACTLY do you eat in a particular day?

How much do you eat of those foods?

How is this split up into meals?

    How far apart are they?

And this is without asking a single question about your training program, we'll get onto that later .

Seriously, man. Get your diet sorted. If youre not logging it in detail - start. You may be surprised at how little you are actually eating in comparison to what you think you're eating.

I know when i started caring about this diet stuff i thought i was eating like a horse, with the control and willpower of a god to stay away from bad foods.

When i actually took a look at it, i was just about meeting the reccomended daily intakes for a man - totally not enough to gain mass. Not only that, but half of what i was eating was pure crap and in no way helpful.

Check out Anthony Ellis Gaining Mass program I have used it for 3 years now and it works, you just have to stay dedicated to the program and do not change what the program tells you to do this is were I failed in the past because i would change my routine or diet every other week if i wasnt seeing good results. Consistancy is the Key...
